I am starting up my own office (finally!), and I'm looking for some new tunes (not Enya! haha).  What do you guys listen to while massaging your clients?

Deva Premal she's amazing!
I love jazz always
There's a wide range of artists on my ipod, but I've found that almost everything by Dean Evenson (Soundings of the Planet) and Deuter works really well. Also, Jim Brickman's piano music is generally pretty good.
I use Jim Brickman a lot!  And Gandalf is wonderful, as are 2002.
The spa I work in has basic tv cable service...The cable offers a music channel...Besides rock, smooth jazz and a plethora of other styles of music.. They offer one called Sound Scapes.. Its all New Age Massage type music...It just runs forever, without advertizements...As far as that goes...Internet radio with good powered speaker system...You could have nice music all the time... Like pandora.com       Just an idea.
I struggled with good music for a long time. I often survey my friends and family and asked for likes and dislikes - most said they did not care for nature or animal sounds, and I personally do not care for most New Age or Meditation music. I finally found some really good Hawaiian music with no vocals, just ukelele - Herb Ohta, Jr. is great and I've gotten LOTS of compliments on his tunes! One thing to be careful of - weed through the albums and choose your songs carefully - some are a little too upbeat for massage, but the slower ones are amazing!

I don't like most music I hear, it ends up being too limiting for what I'm trying to do, or else too saccharine. So there are a few recordings that I like and use a lot.

This is a recording of Tibetan bells/gongs  that I've been using for 6 or 8 years. It's stood the test of time and it's really great for a slow, meditative session! I have a decent sound system in my studio so the lows can be heard.

I  have had the best response from smooth jazz
Itunes has some great ones and believe it or not so does Target. On itunes and Target you can preview the discs...some of my favorites are Music for Stress Relief (Target), Music for Healing (Target)..Nadama has some good ones...Liquid Spirit, Just do a search on Itunes...type in Music for Massage and see what you find....I agree with Bree Deva Premal is WONDERFUL...but I use her more for yoga since some of her music is has a bit of beat to it :).
Xumantra is a good singing bowl cd too....

Three of my favorites:  Lawrence Blatt's "Color of Sunshine".  If you like cello, "Afterglow" by Michael Hoppe, Martin Tillman & Tim Wheaton.  Also Jim Oliver's "Intouch: Musical Massage".

Oh and congratulations on opening your own office!!! :0]
