Could you find someone in center city that might let you use a room, since your clientel is near the location? Possibly a church, library room, office building, room above a store? Can you pad the walls where you are? Is it cost effective to leave where you are? Is the noise bothering just you or the client too? Would music hide the noise?
I appreciate all of the suggestions. Thanks for responding. I have music and a white noise machine in my space. I am thinking maybe I need 4 white noise machines in different parts of the room. Padding is a possible solution. The room is pretty small as it is and the wall the music comes through has a light fixture on it and two pictures. I don't know what padding would look like aesthetically. The space I am in is convenient for my clients, and for me. The gym I am associated with washes all of my sheets and that is a big perk. I really love giving massages. It is a spiritual practice for me, and I love to see clients relax deeply. I know the loud music makes it hard for me to relax. I don't pause as often during the sessions to do energy work. Clients often say the music was not so bad. They tuned it out, but I really strive to create a peaceful space and all around nurturing experience.
