I am in the process of taking my spa mobile and have a couple questions that I hope some of you may know the answers to.
When you are doing spa treatments in someone's home how do you handle the liability concerning any damages to THEIR property caused by treatments. Heaven forbid it happen, but what if you got baltic black mud on their white carpet. Or even if they tried to say you damaged something after the session that you weren't even aware of that may or may not have actually happened.
How do you handle keeping things warm, such as hot towels and hot stones without hauling heating units and showing up early to heat things.
Do most send the client to their shower to rinse off products such as mud...or do you take it off with wet towels. My fear would be sending them to the shower and they decide to stay in there for an hour regardless of your schedule.
Thank you for listening and I am anxious to hear every valued opinion on the subject.

Hi Kat,
I have a spray bottle with warm water that I spray on the client and remove the scrub or mud with towels warmed up in the microwave. I use the hot thermal shells carried in Massage Warehouse rather than stones. They are self heating and lighter to carry. They do add an expense though @ $6 a treatment when using 2 shells. I do all muds/scrubs on the table. I do not send them to the shower for exactly the reason your friend pointed out. I did this once and had that happen. What was suppose to be a 90 minute session ended up being almost 4 hours! And the person did not compensate me for my total time.
As for damages, I carry extra insurance for this. Talk to whoever you have your home/renter insurance with and explain what you need. Mine is now through Farmers, though I was originally with State Farm. Most major insurance companies will have a policy for damages to a customers property.
Thank you Kelly! I take it the thermal shells are a disposable item? I looked at massage warehouse but could not find them.
