massage and bodywork professionals

My ultimate goal is to work for a professional sports team. I am aware it will take time to do, but I was wondering if anyone had any contacts with a therapist working for a professional team that would possibly allow a job shadow? I am interested in shadowing a therapist to get a feel for the sports area! Thank you!!

Your best bet is to contact the team's training staff directly.
Either they have an employee on staff or they contract it out and will give you their name.
Some teams even list the staff MT name on the team's website
I'm in the same boat Jeff. Right now my practice comprises of mountain bikers (both racers and casual riders) as well as fitness professionals, casual fitness buffs and the occasional injury or relaxation client.

I have always wanted to focus in on the clientele I'm working with, however I'd like to take it up a notch and get into some professional sports athletes. For me, the dream job would be having some Dallas Cowboys as clients. Whether this is a possibility I'm not sure, but it is an interesting subject in how those that DO work with professional athletes came to get those jobs/clients. Was it word of mouth? Applying for an MT job posting?

I hear ya all on  this one :)  Thats my specialty aswell, athletes sports. I am still getting DT and sports massage training... anyone know of any great instructors whom to learm from??? I feel you  can always learn something more :)

thanks!

I had a great conversation with a Philly Eagles exec last week.

The NFL is reviewing how they handle all of their massage services in light of the Brett Favre fiasco. They seem to be equally concerned with preventing sleazy behaviors -- why did this contracted MT give Brett her private phone number -- as they are with preventing any allegations from coming to light (its not illegal to be a cretin, but their are client confidentiality laws that go out the window when someone sees Entertainment Tonight or TMZ waving $$ at them)

I'd like to be the next Dallas Cowboys' MT...or atleast manage to market to them to get them as clients individually. :)
