massage and bodywork professionals

I work in a well known franchise spa. Everyone seemed.chill until the last few days. There have been several co-workers who constantly complain and go into histrionics every time they don't get the type of clients that they want. We have a strict no gossip or back talk policy here, and yet I caught a few people doing it. I don't want to sound judgmental, but I can't stand being around catty, squawking, petty women that are total chatter boxes. I know that some guys do it, but by and large, it's the women. So far I've been the top sales person of products/add one and stuff. One lady told my asst. manager that I walked into a couples massage without her which I did not do. To top it off, someone put the things that I had in the locker into another locker that was on the bottom row right next to the door. Anyone who comes in would have opened the door and hit me. I think it was done deliberately. Has anyone else encountered this non sense. And if so, what did you do about it? I left another spa because of all the girly drama that went on in addition to the unprofessionalism. Is this just typical of spas? So far, the only people I've been able to talk to are the male therapist, because they talk more about technical stuff and sports instead of personal garbage and getting emotionally distraught.

Cheryl, sounds like jealousy at work. Judging by your photo, you appear to be an exceptionally beautiful woman. I'm guessing the ones who give you the most grief are also attractive, who think in their hearts that "If Cheryl were gone, I would be the most beautiful woman here!" Physical attractiveness in a woman (or a man), especially when accompanied by a warm, friendly smile, is a great benefit in most areas of life. However, like having great wealth, having physical beauty also incites envy and resentment and jealousy from the 98% of people who were born with lousy genetics and/or no family money.
Just keep smiling at everyone as if he or she is your one true friend. Don't let the bitter ones know that their piggishness is getting to you. BTW, move your things to another locker, and keep it locked.

It's typical in spas that have poor management. The manager at the spa I work at makes it very clear that gossip and middle school behavior will not be tolerated. Those that refuse to act like adults are shown the door. Regarding people moving your things every spa should have security cameras in the break room. We have them and therapists leave out purses, cell phones, and ipads in the open and nobody messes with anyone's stuff knowing the cameras are are there. If cameras are not an option the next time you stuff is not in the locker you left it in don't look for it - just call the police and report your stuff stolen (which it is). If the police coming to interview all the "suspects" is not enough to spur your management into action then it may be time to look somewhere else for a job.
I also think that your co-workers are jealous with you. Simply ignore them.
