It emits a musical tone, the tone differing depending on the length of the muscle.
Fun fact: The entirety of Pink Floyd's The Wall album was recorded solely with the use of muscle-generated tones. That's why they always talk about the tonus of muscles....On that note (pun intended), one could speculate that the truth you speak of is hidden... like a shadow... on the dark side of the moon...
