Yoga pants and pastel polo shirts. And barefoot. Shoes are too uncomfortable. My feet need to feel the ground and breeeeath.
I am so glad to find this thread. I am in the process of trying to figure out what to buy to wear to work.

For the past four years I have been wearing the same set of t-shirts I had printed after for wearing to work. Those shirts and jeans (which can be so restrictive, but comfortable). They are comfortable but looking scraggly after so many washings. Ironically, as I read this, I'm wearing my black tshirt lol.

I am really thinking about moving into the scrubs territory. I like the idea of a sort of built-in level of professionalism while still being comfortable. I have bought dress clothes and dress pants to wear at work but they have no stretch, so I feel instantly 50 pounds heavier when I try and work on people, which kills my self esteem lol. I ran into a similar problem when I bought a pair of scrubs to try out a few months ago. Lesson learned - buy a little larger, go for the darker colors, and buy quality material. Uniform Advantage is the company that I am going to buy from next time. Then I can buy dark color solids, and maybe add some festive prints in for special holidays and whatnot.

In my practice, I feel like I need to have something a little dressy to match my market. My client base comes in looking really nice, and I think it would be a good idea to be able to dress a level comparable to my base. I don't want to lose business because I look too sloppy. What do you guys think about dressing to match your client base?
@Raymond,

I make my choice on what to wear based on my comfort and on the ease with which I am able to move during a session. Our clients are removing (most of) their clothing, (mostly) have their eyes closed, and ideally are relaxed and not paying any attention to what we are wearing at the end of the session.

I have purchased my pants at REI, choosing from the men's active wear. Latest purchase were organic cotton Slickrock pants and shorts (for the warmer days). I have organic cotton T-shirts and polo shirts. I have had no comments either for or against my clothing from any client though a few have noted favorably my Keen shoes.
This is a good question. I often wonder about this since I am new and just starting out. In school, we were required to wear the school polo shirt with black slacks. We were allowed to work barefoot which I usually do. Now that I'm out of school, I wear yoga pants and a tshirt. I'm having some shirts made with my logo on them so I will have a "uniform." I've worked in jeans a couple times and it's not very comfortable for me.
I wear scrubs, all different colors. UT scrubs are my favorite (burnt orange top black pants). Good supportive tennis shoes also. I think wearing scrubs makes people look at you differently.
Funny how many therapists wear black when they massgae!

I tried scrubs for awhile and they were not comfortable for me. I wear black pants, long or short sleeved T's (depending on the weather) and either a "scrub" vest or apron with MT logo. All of these are cotton - breathable and comfortable. The look is professional. As for shoes must have...always wear Haflingers. Love these shoes...lightweight and cozy on my feet...
I usually wear a nice pair of slacks, a colored T-shirt, and a nice jacket; which is taken off for the session. I frequently have meetings or presentations to give, so the jacket dresses it up quickly when needed. Shoes: I have a pair of Dansko's that have served me well for 8 years now, in black. I also have had great success with Footsmart.com. I usually get the slippers that look like clogs, have great arch supports and are soooooo comfortable.

Jeans once in a while; because I can.
