Lifetime would like to hire an additional massage therapist for their team. (Note: I had a great chair massage there last week during their holiday festivities and I've gone there for years for hair styles and facial care with Penny Jo Pullus! Ariana) The spa director, Christine Chism writes that it is a part time opening. The therapist starts out hourly while you build the commission. The commission starts at 48% but no more than 60% . Christine is looking for someone with five years of experience in sports, deep tissue, etc. You can go to to apply or contact Christine Chism at Lifetime Spa.

Career Op:

Do you know anybody looking for a job with a chiropractor? Our office is located in Lakeway, Texas (west of Austin). We are a busy office and the Dr's are great and fair people. Truly the best bosses I've ever worked for. Pay would be based on experience. The pay has always been good even better then other Dr's offices I've applied at. We would like them to start Jan. 3rd. The applicant would be taking over Lori's job because she moving back to Houston to help with the family business. If you have any questions Dr. Aaron Williams would be happy to answer them.

Most people live, whether physically, intellectually or morally, in a very restricted circle of their potential being. They make use of a very small portion of their possible consciousness, and of their soul’s resources in general, much like a person who, out of his whole bodily organism, should get into a habit of using ...and moving only his little finger. – William James

Hi Lisa - Thanks so much for posting information about your spa and inviting like-minded, talented therapists to meet you. I looked at your website and was impressed with the wide variety of services you offer, with the instant gift certificates and the online scheduling system. Warmest congratulations on a job well done. I like the way you list all of the cities you serve: Your local day spa serving Jupiter, Jupiter Farms, Tequesta, Abacoa, Hobe Sound, Juno, Palm Beach,
Palm Beach Gardens, Treasure Coast, Jupiter Island, West Palm Beach, Stuart, the Palm Beaches and surrounding areas. What great marketing. Wishing you ongoing success. Warmly, Ariana

Hi Tracy - Three suggestions for building your private practice: (1) There's a great article in Massage Today this month about taking the leap from a corporate practice to a private practice. (2) Ariana Institute offers an online Practice Building and Marketing CE course for massage therapists ( and (3) Laura Allen has written a wonderful book on practice building, "One Year to a Successful Massage Therapy Practice." Wishing you the very best. Warmly, Ariana

You wrote: Thanks Ariana for this valuable information. I have had a few bad experiences working for the corporate franchise spas. I know that my ultimate goal is to work for myself. At this moment I do alot of ladies spa parties and I really enjoy this more that the day to day work. If you have any suggestions, I welcome any advice you may have. Thank you

I highly recommend Lauriann Greene and her Save Your Hands program. I recommend her book to my students and I've personally benefited from the knowledge I've gained.
