The basic goal for all massage therapy is to achieving sustainable results and never to further aggravate the problem.  It's critical to keep in mind that deep tissue massage doesn't require the application of excessively strong pressure.  This is because the inappropriate application of painfully "deep massage" on clients suffering from minor low back pains, upper back and neck pains often results in significant additional damage to already injured tissues.  Such excessive use of force can result in people becoming temporary or even permanently crippled, dependent on painkillers, repeated steroid injections and sometimes even a need for surgery.  

This workshop is strongly recommended for all massage therapists because the safe application of deep tissue mobilization is a necessary part of all: full body stress management massage, post event sports massage and orthopedic massage.

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Please bring two (2) bed sheets, personal towel, and lubrication (preferably non-allergenic for all types of skin). Also, please bring a notebook and a writing utensil for note taking as well Massage table.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Participants will learn how to perform 5 different types of kneading/petrissage techniques, clinical deep tissue mobilization without exhausting themselves.  Participants will also be taught how to incorporate energy work in their massage practice so as to further aid their clients while preventing or protecting themselves from a client's possible negative energy.  Finally, we shall discuss in detail the physiological effects of massage, including why leg massage must never be excluded.

During this seminar you will spend the majority of time providing each other with medical hands-on deep tissue mobilization .
