I'm a solo-practitioner leasing space in a salon/spa, though the massage space has a completely separate/private entrance to the rest of the salon. There's a new therapist that just moved her business into the other room in our space.

I'm considering hosting a holiday open house. Our space is very small, particularly my room, and to pull it off, we'd likely have to do it together, or I would have to do it for my business when she is not planning to work.

I'd love to hear some tips on what has (or hasn't!) worked for you in the past, or anything you can think might be helpful to think about, considering our exceptionally small lobby/therapy rooms.

Thanks!

Years before I became an LMT I went to a Open House for a new MT practice and hated it. What didn't work was that the MT was giving a massage during the open house and left me in the foyer with no explanation or assistance. If you plan to give massages I would recommend that you find someone that will stay and talk with anyone that comes in. Have hand outs for the different types of modalities you use in your practice.

Also start telling everyone months ahead of time. Perhaps offer 10% off an hour session to your current clients that bring a friend; or to anyone that books an appointment during the open house.

Have fun and good luck.
