I think networking is good. Especially referral clubs that are in the area. Also the old school methods such as flyers, handing out business cards, etc. And just plain word-of-mouth goes a long way.
So many options out there but in general, I find that massage therapists do best when people get to meet them (networking), experience their work (freebies) or are referred by existing clients or related professionals (word of mouth.) As Mike Hinkle just pointed out in another group post, I offer a free e-course on getting clients to rebook on my website (www.spalutions.com). The reason I promote this so heavily is because keeping new clients coming back (not just getting them in the first time) is what really sustains your business over the long haul.
Hope that helps! Let me know if I can answer any other specific questions:-)
