Lomi Lomi 2 Replies

I have been using my forearms to massage almost exclusively and am interested in learning Lomi Lomi. Has anyone else learned this modality and how did you modify it to fit ME's draping guidelines?

I have sent CG Funk and here assistant Zac email after email
about things like this, ALL I EVER get from them is that each owner has the
right to set their own rules, and ME corporate will not get involved! It is
time for all to stand up to the ME corporate people and tell them what we think
and make it known to the public!

Hi Guys and Dolls, It really is sad. I am very grateful for my time 2 years and 3 months at Massage Envy Pensacola. I learned a termendous amout of knowledge. I was fired on July 7, 2011 because our owner is stealing the tips from ther therapists that go on credit cards or gift cards. I turned him into the corporate office as I know Cg Funk personally. He fired me. He also stated we were doing inapproate massage behind the closed door to receive such large times. This owner is such a very sick man. I just pray for him. I am on the verge of openning up my own place Barrancas Massafge and Wellness Center just as soon as I have the state inspection from the Florida Department of Health. Received a letter of confirmation last week stating they had received my establishment license application. This owner will not deal with me as I have already talked to 3 different attorneys. If he messes with me he may not like it. Besides, I am way outside the 5 mile radius of the no complete contract that I signed with by the way everyone, will not hold up in a court of law as clients have the right to choose where they go for any kind of service. It is perfectly legal to do a letter of announcing where you are located. So for you who are stuck in a bad situation I just want you to know there is always HOPE. Massage Envy owners do not have as much power over you as they think they do. You do not have to accept unacceptable behavior and policyies from sick Massage Envy Owners. One other piece of information I discovered as well. Each clinic is individually owned and operated. They can set and make any kind of rules and regulations that they want as Massage Envy has none for them to follow. If owners are being unreasonable  and abusive in the treatment of therapists then you need to let Cg Funk know who is the Vice President of Massage Envy. Her personal email address is cgfunk@massageenvy.com. I am behind you all the way and will give you any kind of support you need. Massage Therapists who work for Massage Envy need a therapist advocate as they do not have one. If any of you want to talk you may call me at 850-516-8805 or email me at das2580@aol.com. Good luck to you all.

just so you know!!!

One more reason why the corporate office of Massage Envy
need to look more into HOW their franchise owners treat their therapist, we
were told in the meeting today that from now on, if you call out sick, all the appointments on your books that DON’T reschedule for a another day (on the day when they are called to be informed that there therapist has called out) the therapist will have to PAY IN FULL for the missed massage. Unless you come in with a Doctor’s note. So, it looks like a lot of therapist that don’t have insurants (and that is 90% of us) will be coming into work to do massages and facials with colds and flu and giving it to all the clients. This will really look good for
Massage Envy as a whole!

Well we got the new shirts in today, very disappointed in them. They did not send us the large sizes, and we needed 18 of them, the companies we get them from don’t do “tall” shirts so they are a little short for 3 of us (so short that we cannot tuck them in like the uniform policy tells us, the XL and the 2XL are the same length). They are thicker then we were thinking and HOT! Also the sleeves are a little long for a massage therapy shirt, the XL go all the way to my elbow (it covers my elbow). So disappointed in ME corporate, one more time they did not think at all.

I wish it were that simple david. I don't know how other clinics are but it is very difficult for our manager to find time to speak with employees. She has over 50 therapists to manage. I've been trying to get my schedule changed and finally did after 8 months. I've been trying to discuss my maternity leave for 2 months now.

Dan , I  want U to know ,  I enjoy  exchanging  thoughts  &  ideas  with U  , hoping  to not  ruffle  your feathers  and  keep the  peace

Like  U & Darcy  mentioned  .. this is the place  for  exchange

I  judge  no one ,  I  listen  to  all

looking  for the  positive  in every thing  ,  heck  .. more  like   let  the  positive  do its  thing

may the  force  be with U

 peace

I  must  agree , we  really don't  need  a lead  therapist ... we  all should  be  that within ourself  .. allot  of us ,  by-pass  the  lead  and  take   issues  straight  to  manager

 If  U   dis-like  your  job as much as  U  seem  , why  R U  working  where  U  do ?  just a  thought

Isn't  the  wellness  of  R  clients  the  important  factor  here  ?  how  can one  do their  job well , if  they  R  unhappy ?

Talk to your , managers  , owners  ... everyone  has a  heart  ... be  postive  on changes  that can happen ...

name calling is  not  the  answer , even if  you  have reason

all 19 clinics in GA  cannot  be  a  " nightmare "  per  say  .. in  which to  work ?

Maybe  you're  right  , and I'm  lucky  to have the  situation I'm  in  ,  speaking for myself  ... I wouldn't  work ,  where I wasn't  being  treated  fairly and  with  respect

peace  &  harmony

 always

REALLY???  It’s good
to be all LOVE and Light and S*@T like that WHEN you have a CM, owner and a
good regional manager that give a damn about the therapist, the bad thing is
90% don’t. Believe me, the people that talk on this chat have good people
looking out for them, on other chat rooms for ME I have been in they are
working in hell with CMs, owners and regional managers that don’t give a damn.  Hell the Regional manager here in GA is one of
the bad ones.  Our RM has told all the
clinics here that they should NOT HAVE lead therapist, hell your beloved CG
Funk has said that the clinics really don’t need a lead therapist.  In my clinic I am the lead, the only one in
all the 19 clinics in GA. the corporate office and CG Funk has NEVER returned a
call from a clinic here when we call with a problem.   Just remember that not even therapist works
in a good clinic with good manages.  I will
be seeing some of the corporate people and CG this weekend with a (now) 5 page
list of problems we have in the GA clinics. We will see what they do (if they
will do a thing).
