What is working for ME like for you? I understand some folks have a problem with ME. But, I have heard just as many great things. So, I'd like to hear from the folks that actually work there.
Well, you know my story. I was hoping someone else would take the lead that is why I waited. I have worked for Massage Envy Pensacola since they opened back in April 2009. Because of my services there 60 people became members in the course of this year. That is great considering I work 19 hours a week. Massage Envy is similar to a gym membership only for massage. How the membership works is, there is a set price each month and that entitles the holder of the membership one massage in a month. Any more than that one massage with in the month, and the price is cut in half. It really is a great deal if one is into massage. If I did not work for them I would have a membership. The goal is 10 new members a month for the full time therapists so I am right on target. I work a schedule of 2/4 which means I do 2 massages in a row and 4 max for the shift. I for the most part make them stick to that schedule. Once in a very great while I will do 3 massage in a row, only if they asked me ahead of time and I am feeling really good. I no longer do 2 hour massages. Only 90 minutes or less. I work Tuesday- Friday and I am enjoying that schedule. We will soon be changing to 2 shifts of 9-3 and 3-9 PM. I do not know how that will affect me. I do work one 6 hour shift on Tuesdays and go home after 4 massages are complete. So it may be the same. I have learned much in this last year in CE Education. I am the most educated therapist at the Pensacola Clinic. I began teaching within the clinic this year and will continue to do so into 2011. We have a great owner and he provides the best equipment in the business. Everything is state of the art. We have 14 massage rooms with 3 being couples rooms. Every need is met as far as supplies. Also CE education is paid for on a full or partial basis depending on the class. There are benefits available for therapists who work 30 hours a week or more consisting of Health and Dental insurance. Also other discounts are available to everyone who is employed by Massage Envy. I receive a 15% discount on my Verizon Wireless services and also a 75% discount on all massage services I pay for at the clinic. One of the best advantages to teaching is receiving free massages from the therapists when they have praticals to do. To me that is my best benefit. I can certainly understand the frustration of some therapists who allow Massage Envy to take advantage of them. They will if allowed. Massage Envy also accepts No as a complete answer with out any explanations. I am truly grateful for my job, the education I have gained and the experience that has been given to me.
