Same here Barbara. I took the Ingram Method of Reflexology 2 years ago and found it very difficult and taxing. I also took Claire's Integrative Reflexology Method at the World Massage Festival and find it so much easier. My clients are loving it as well. I also hope to be certified by Claire soon.

Hi. I just joined this group. I have been doing the Laura Norman method of Reflexology for 5 years. I took 96 hours of her method, but never got nationally certified because I would have to do a lot of traveling, since I had moved. I took Claire Marie Miller's Integrative Reflexology at the WMF last month and I was totally impressed with her method! I will become certified in her method soon. Since Claire's method is called "integrative" I find that I am able to incorporate both methods into the same session. Even my clients have noticed the difference and love it! I was told by Laura Norman, to take other methods because we can always learn something new. Amen to that!!

Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking about putting together a Reflexology learning conference here in my home state of WI. I put together a quick questionnaire that you can read on Wisconsin Reflexology. Right now I'm looking for input. Once I get things hammered out, I would like to invite all Reflexologists to attend, not just the ones in WI. And to offer CEU credits for those who need them. Could you help me out by going to Wisconsin Reflexologists and posting your comments? It would be of great help. Thanks!

I have an integrated practice that includes American Standard Reflexology. I have found that combining reiki with my other work work greatly enhances it. The form I was taught does not use deep pressure, in fact, my teacher taught that deep pressure can be counter productive to the process. I have met people who would not go back to a reflexologist because they felt so much pain. The reiki, combined with myofascial work, has proven very effective. Another use of reflexology is to help people with PTSD release the energy of their trauma, especially when they do not want to be touched on the involved areas of their body.

To prevent thumb injury always start with a warm-up exercise for your hands and wrists; practice using the correct thumb walking techniques and try alternating thumb walking with the fingers as well as knuckles.
If you are new to reflexology squeeze a soft ball, constantly, to develop strength in your thumbs and fingers. Schedule some "me time" where you treat yourself to a paraffin wrap, hand massage, or a sugar scrub. Take good care of your hands, as they are the tools of your trade. All the best with your reflexology sessions.
