Seen any great anatomy vids ? let me know so I can put them here.......Thanks for joining

If you have only just completed your anatomy and physiology training then learning all the muscle origins and insertions will no doubt have been a challenge. The next challenge is to combine this knowledge with learning about the nervous system.

Jean Claude Guimberteau at  http://www.endovivo.com/en/dvds.php   is creator of some of the most mind blowing invivo video's you will ever see.He has condensed his life work into a book with accompanying DVD. It promotes as many questions as it answere's because it challanges the world of microbiology as never seen before https://www.amazon.de/Architecture-Living-Fascia-Extracellular-Endoscopy/dp/1909141119/ref=pd_sim_14_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51fuwtGFVhL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR126%2C160_&refRID=PC3G2KA42J1733EGGDYT http://www.endovivo.com/alf/WOW Gil Hedley has released his 4 dvd anatomy disection set to be veiwed on you tube.

See below, thanks Gil :)

In addition you may want to look at what is happening at the cellular level?. Here is the work of professor Bente Klarlund Pedersen, She has been studying hormone secretion from muscles  for over 10 yrs!. http://inflammation-metabolism.dk/index.php?pageid=111&username=bente

Ligaments are dynamic ???

Robert Schliep has made it onto German TV with a presentation on Fascia see above.

The most recent fascia congress was in Vancouver http://www.fasciacongress.org/2012/  ( a DVD recording of of this congress will be made available later)

How did you learn your muscles ? was it fun or a real hard slog..(all those actions, origins and insertions.) 9 Replies

I found it a hard slog I spent 2 hours every day of the week trying to get this knowledge to stick. I was an athelete at the time and came to realize I knew didley squat about the muscles.

This video shows last resort nerve decompression surgery. These have provided confirmation of specific carpal tunnel sites that I target when treating Dupuytrens Contracture. My hunch is this enhances axoplasmic flow = healthy nerve= correct myofibroblastic behaviour.

NERVE SURGERY Notice how she deliberately injures the nerve to encourage nerve sprouting and regeneration . at 32.45  into this video.

Q Is this an indicator that micro injury to periferal nerves actually induces stronger recovery.  " motor nerves will not recover without injury "  Does it therefore follow that deep tissue techniques eg muscle stripping or temporary compression, are "good for nerves "

Hi Jeff and Amanda thank you for those updates.

Jeff have you been studying axoplasmic flow ? I have only recently been investigating and wish I had learned more about it years ago !

i've only had a short time to watch the beginning of the video Stephen and I can't wait to watch the whole thing. my favorite structure to study of the nervous system is the eye, including the optic nerve of course. i'm working a general theory of eye pathology along with specific specific pathologies, including glaucoma which I am preparing to do some research to see if my assumptions are correct and to explore the potential for manual and movement therapies in the prevention and rehab related to the eye. speaking of research, Amanda's reference to Geoff Bove who is on the leading edge of fascia research and was very instrumental in the Int'l Fascia Research Congress too. He and Susan Chappelle have done some great stuff. I wish I could attend his presentation in Berkeley. Here's a link to them as presenters last year in Vancouver: http://www.fasciacongress.org/2012/panelists.html

By the way, registration for Fall 2013 workshops and trainings in Hendrickson Method Manual Therapy is open.

Really good technique for peripheral nerve entrapment. Giles Gamble, Senior Teacher, will be teaching workshops in the U.K. this fall and spring.

Check out this link: http://www.hendricksonmethod.com/news/

Hi Stephen and Jeff,

You may be both interested in the work of Dr. Geoffrey Bove. Google him!

He will be giving a two day course about pain and the nervous system in Berkeley, CA this fall at the Rosen Institute.

He is a Doctor of Chiropractic who specializes in pain disorders and has written numerous articles about nerves. Let me know if you need help finding him.

Hi Jeff and Amanda wouldn't it be fantastic if he did "let go" like Gil :)

On a personal note I have discovered a huge imbalance in my education in that I have not studied the brain and nervous system enough. So beginning from Oct 2012 having studied DERMONEUROMODULATION many of the vids and other material will reflect this. I hope you enjoy this material and will ask of yourselves do I know enough about nerves?

Thank you for the nerve injury and repair videos Stephen~

Cannot wait to view them! I own a set of Acklund videos and they are valuable learning tools, as is the book Trail Guide to the Body.
