The movement is huge! As massage therapists, we've all chosen to live our lives a little different. So, this group is to discuss and share the ways that we live green at home and in our businesses. What do you do that makes this world a "little greener"? Recycle, organic sheets, lotions, e-news, community events? Please share all information and websites so we can all make a change!

Has anyone tried these yet? I'm really pushing myself for the greater good...HOWEVER... the price of these sets are slighty absurd. So, if anyone is using them, please let me know how they're…Continue

Kate, I would absolutely love to book online. However, I rent a room in a salon (which I am greening brick by brick) and they do a lot of the scheduling for me when I am not in house or am busy with a client. Massage & Bodywork Magazine has an ad in it this round for sbFirstDay software. The web is: www.sbFirstDay.com I urge you all to look in to it. It's $49 and includes: color coded appointment book, e-mail promotion design to send to clients, customer check out, appointment reminders, reporting, product and inventory maintenance, so on and so forth. A great way for all of us in private practice to keep all our ducks in a row!

Also, in a precious post: there are "green" paints for the walls. Organic cottons, bamboo, some massage tables are now "green". There's a ton of things you can do if you just start looking. And bugging people on here about what to do! :) I do it all the time!

When your print, always print on recycled paper! Use organic essential oils as well as lotion/cream/oils. Cleaning products for your room should be "green" as well as your laundry soaps. Any little bit helps.

Hey everyone! Im new, and wanting to just get some great ideas of ways to even be green in this business. I realize recycling of course, and paperless, but what other ways do I "go green" with my space?

So, I just placed a large order with Mountain Rose Herbs. I'm very excited to get all the new materials. All organic and fair-traded, of course. I will keep you posted on how my homemade endeavors turn out. Something new for the new year!

Just got a bug to go to my local health food store to try and create some organic homemade scrubs and polishes. Looking to add a few new items to my menu. Did you know that you can use Nori f/ the health food store to do seaweed wraps?

Someone responded to my discussion on the main page about the instant GCs. There is also a company spaboom.com that offers instant gift certificates and web design. Something to look into. They have a start up fee of $99 and 5% per transaction with a 2 day turn around.
