Today is the beginning of the week for most of us, and some our week has not ended yet. Whatever you situtaion is, time is always needed to unwind and just relax. Today I am taking a "ME DAY", I feel so deserving of this day. I have many roles in life and inorder to do them effectively.I must take care of ME! So today, I am gonna enjoy the day and just let it happen as I did yesterday. No agenda, just me, my remote, a snack here or there and awaken rest. What are you doing to start your week? A nice workout, quiet time with family or feiends, good movie, a much needed day of rest, a relaxing massage? Whatever you do, let it be your reward for being so wonderful to others in your massage profession. YOU DESERVE IT!! Please feel free to share some ways you find relaxing to start your week before relaxing others.

Good stuff, Tanya ;)
I call this, Self Care Sunday. Each Sunday I pick something to do for my own self care. As my girlfriend and I watched the movie, Eat Pray Love, last night, today will be a day, such as in the movie, "I Am In Silence" to meditate and be silent.
Kris
Thanks Kris, ;) I see so many therapists who are worn out and never take time to balance between others and self. It is very important to find a place of serenity to just unwind. No matter where that place is or what you are doing. I feel it is necessity for the well being of not only the body, but our mind and spirit. Sounds like you are enjoying your weekend and I pray you enjoy your entire week as well. Thanks for sharing Kris ;)
ME days are so important!
How can we advocate promoting massage to clients if we don't take care of ourself!!!
A me do can include any of the following: Pedicure, Facial (just had one , yummy), drive in a convertible (just did that today), lunch at the lake (so relaxing), playing with my grandkids (FUN and joyful), listening to Marina Raye's music (ahhh), sitting on my deck and listening to the birds chirp or watching the leaves speak to me ;)
Without "me" days I don't feel we can give our best to the client who is having their "me" day ;)
We like to go on a motorcycle ride up into the mountains near our place here in Thailand, visit a waterfall and hike a bit. Sauna is also a great way to take in some relaxation.
I take regular breaks during the day to practice some Qigong exercises even if only for a a few minutes to keep my energy levels up.
In Thailand weekends don't mean anything as most people just work every day. So you really have to plan a "me" day since it is all too easy to just fall into the routine of working every day. Most Thai massage therapists here work 7 days a week. I don't know how they can do it, but they do.
