Bryan, welcome to the group. Goats and other cultish activities are optional, I love your take on meditation, and I think all that is required is the desire to let completely loose once in a while. Or more than once. :D

Sam--from a long history of dealing with this sort of s***, don't even bother with phone calls. I'd suggest a sternly worded letter to the restaurant's insurance company, detailing your disappointment in their proactivity, outlining in detail your situation (it helps if you have a flair for the dramatic), and your [reluctant] willingness to contact a legal representative should the situation call for it. Most towns have a "free legal hour" sort of thing where people can receive advice for free. Alternatively, you can contact various law firms and see who is willing to give you an initial consultation for free.

I'd write the letter first, though, and see what shakes out. Most of the time, people want to avoid expensive litigation, so if they know they're in the wrong and you're ready to bulldog down, they'll roll. If you can start a letter, I'd be happy to edit it for you and add in the appropriate amount of bitchiness. (Seriously, I have a stupid amount of experience in this area, and it has almost always gone to my satisfaction.)

And at our place? The fire pit is maybe ten feet from the front stairs. If we can haul a guy in a wheelchair up to the deck, someone on crutches would be a piece of cake. ;P

Sam if we ever had that party and you were still on crutches, I'd be more than happy to sweep you up and carry you just so you could have that 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 ...margaritas. Or we could hook up the goats to a cart and lay you in the back.

Off to do 5 hours of chair massage. Tomorrow it's 6 hours and then 2 tables. Sunday will definitely be a day of rest. Hope my wife has my martini ready for me tonite.

Sam!!!! it's good to hear from you (although I know i'm a little scarce myself). And for what it's worth...you should kick them in the ASS (just not with your injured foot). :) Choice is right...you should see if you can find someone to help you. s*** if you have to go to the local news station or paper. there are usually reports that help the "little guy".

Hi Bryan and welcome to our group. Choice described our little corner hear purrfectly...that was really sweet what you said Choice. I'm glad that our group has evolved the way it has. I'm just sorry I haven't been able to be rowdy enough!!!

My daughter was hospitalized again and we tried yet again to get her into a long term facility that all the doctors feel she would do well with. however insurance refused once again. So my daughter was forced to deal with what we CAN do. and i think after this last hospitalization she realizes that she doesn't need (or want anymore) to be there. and so I think she's finally come to terms that she has to do some healing of herself. in the meantime we will get another counselor to meet with her regularly. I have also decided to home school her through www.connectionsacademy.com. and so far it seems like it will do her some good. my hope is to use this year to keep the social distractions away from the educational hours and get her back on track. then maybe after a year of this she will be ready to go back for her Junior year of high school. I think after a year of home schooling she will get a bit stir crazy. but if not and it works well for her then we will just complete her high schooling through them. they are a really good program...free WITH supplies. and the courses are everything from special needs to advanced placement.

on that note i was disgusted with my first day of school for my son. he entered 4th and (unlike his sister) has struggled with school always. don't you know i finish dropping him off and i run into the counselor at school. last year she worked a lot with my son to give him extra help and motivation. so i had always liked her. BUT on the first day back she sees me and asks me if i ever got my son to the doctor to be checked for ADHD. which btw i did last year and the doctor agreed with me that this is NOT something my son is suffering from. it kinda pissed me off. i mean can we not have a month of school and grades before we jump on the "can we get him medicated" attitude. and not for nothing but my son is not hyper...he's just a 10 year old boy. so who knows. i'm thinking that if the home schooling thing works well for my daughter i may look into it for my son come next year.

other than that life continues to chug along. massages seem to be picking up and i've finally started getting some repeat clients weekly and bi weekly. i've had a lot of repeat clients in my practice but repeat has usually been mostly once every 4-6 weeks. i've also noticed a lot of my clients have been requesting 2 hour sessions (i kinda went off on that thread in the forum). :P

my car still SUCKS and it just never seems to amaze me that the more massages pick up is the more things fall apart else where. s*** i need a break!!

we finally had a mild weather day today. it was nice to only get up to the 90s. :)

and it's cowboy season here soon. which means i have to continue my push to find a connection to them. i have vowed to my friends that within a 5 year span i WILL have some Dallas Cowboys as clients. ;)

By the way, we have a 5lb yorkie that keeps getting rolled anytime a storm comes in with 40 mph+ gusts and we happen to be outside letting her do the bathroom break.

Bryan, it sounds like you're our type of material and, I for one, welcome another guy to this group. We do let it all hang out here and not everyone can handle it. Some topics are funny, some are irrelevant, some are waaaayyy out there and some are downright life serious. We say what we need to, in whatever language is needed, and we are not judged by anyone here. We support each other and it is awesome. We've had people come and go, but I gotta tell you.....the Rowdy group has become a close knit internet family. I am completely proud to be a part of it and, who, knows, maybe we will have that party....in person...someday.

There are days when I come home from working....like an all day convention (7 hours or so of chair)....and I'll tell my wife...."I don't like people anymore." I know that might be blasphemous for some therapists, but I think you're lying if you don't feel that way sometimes. That's when I like to fix a nice martini (gin of course) with a swizzle stick of bacon in it.....things are always better after that.

Welcome aboard.....hope you don't walk the plank.

Um...YES, Choice. Now that I'm old(er), it was sort of an epiphany to discover that I don't have to take crap from anybody anymore if I don't want to! I like to think it's one of the perks that come with ageing, even though I have to monitor my "filter" more often than I used to so I don't get used to my empowerment high. It was a shock to finally discover, I'm way more opinionated than I thought...and really quite happy when people don't piss me off. ;)

Sam, please do follow up and get a lawyer involved if you must...they have a liability to you for injuries sustained on their property! We all have insurance to cover something like that, they surely must, too! Good luck..and feel better.

It seems to me, the older I get, the more vindictive I get when the situation calls for it. Especially if it involves taking responsibility, customer service or big corporations screwing the little guy. Anyone else like this? hahahahaha

I say....sue the bastards and let the courts decide if they're in the wrong. Seriously, do you know a lawyer friend or family? I have a brother-in-law who is an attorney (I really do...no jokes) and he stepped in once for me when I was having a problem with Gold's Gym, wrote a letter on his stationary to the company prez....I called up and told them I was going to sue and my brother-in-law was not going to charge me, so money was no object....and guess what, not only did I get a resolution but I received a nice apologetic phone call from the prez himself. Sometimes it pays to step up and throw out a little bluff. Especially if it could involve surgery. Maybe you'll end up owning a town festival..........

Wow...Just stopped in for a second and find Sam! It's sure good to see you back, I was afraid you got too "serious" for us here. So sorry to hear about your foot!! Dare I ask how it happened? (Getting a wee bit too rowdy are we?)

Selena wasn't very popular in the Midwest, but I did some homework and discovered she was really good! Thanks for the mention, I might not have been familiar with her music otherwise.

Speaking of books, have any of you ladies read The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love? I never laughed so hard...very rowdy bunch, I'm not sure even we could keep up. Janet Evanovich is good but I haven't seen that series ~ thanks for the tip, Sam.
