This seems to be a pretty predictable result:

The annual sauna world championship in Finland has been called off after a Russian man died after spending six minutes enduring a temperature of 110C (230 F).

Vladimir Ladyzhenskiy was pronounced dead after being dragged from the sauna by judges. Police were investigating the cause of death.

Now I enjoy time in a sauna and sometimes I can be rather competitive, but Holy Cow!

It has been awhile since I have been here and it looks like everyone has been busy!

Marilyn, so glad Poopsie is back and was not coyote/fox fodder. Maybe she will be so grateful to be back in the house she will clean up her act.

Marissa, glad the new therapist is working out. Has the little soccer player slowed down any?

Erica, too funny about the goats. They can be a pain in the butt, but very entertaining too. If not for you, at least for your clients. ;)

Lisa, I had the same thing happen a year ago. He apologized and was uber embarrassed, I told him not to worry, it happens sometimes. He did not come back for 2-3 months, but is now a bi-monthly customer who tips well. We both have a bit of a warped sense of humor and even joke about it sometimes (not in a pervish or uncomfortable way - more like Look Ma, dry sheets!) First return appointment was a little awkward, but everything is fine now.

Choice congrats on the anniversary and here is to many more. LOL at git'er done. I can be a little crass but not even I could go there!

I took on a DYI project of putting in new flooring in the office and adjoining bathroom. This is not a project for someone with horrible hand/eye coordination but I had to finish as I had already torn out the original carpet and tile. Ended up rescheduling 2 days of clients 'cause I did not have the floor done. I will be thinking twice before doing any more home improvements myself!

Glad you guys enjoyed the goat story. I was thinking of putting it over on the "Bloopers" board, and most likely shall.

Lisa--as for saying anything to the gentleman, why bother? You guys have already talked about it and you've let him know it was okay and a normal response. Sounds like he had a sense of humor about it, even if he was a little embarrassed.

I had much the same thing happen with a client (he started apologizing, etc., even though I couldn't see anything due to the heavy comforter). We had a similar conversation, and he became one of my best/favorite clients.

Cause, Lisa dear, it would have been REALLY weird if I had been there when it happened.....hahahahahahahahaha. I would wait til he rebooks. If he does it by email, just politely explain, telling him how it's natural and for him not to worry about it but here maybe is a solution. If he calls, get his email for a confirmation email and then politely repeat previous scenario. If you make him feel weirded out, he won't come back and maybe never ever get a massage again.....all because of you...hahahahahaha again. Sorry, I think it's rather humorous to picture you and how this all played out. Going back to one of your forum questions.....what were you thinking at that moment...."damn, why is he married?" Snicker. It's not life and death, that how you put it in perspective. And he obviously wasn't, according to you, a perv.

so you think i should call him and bring it up specifically? or wait till he books again? he has already inferred that he wanted to start getting regular sessions. he mentioned it during his first session. I think I'm more uncomfortable with the phone call scenario than waiting for him to come back. and i readily admit in these situations i'd probably cowardly hide behind an email conversation if it meant me bringing it up. s*** Choice why couldn't you have told me this when it happened?! :)
Comment by Choice Kinchen on August 8, 2010 at 4:38pm
So, have an uncomfortable conversation. The worse it will do to you is....kill you? Nah. He might become a regular and a good tipper. Step out of your comfort zone. Don't make it as hard as you are making it.....yes I was being funny. This is the Rowdy group after all.
Comment by Lisa on August 8, 2010 at 4:09pm
i'm not sure i can comfortably have that conversation with him. :) Perhaps if it comes up again (no pun intended...ok well maybe a little) i'll bring it up. oiy everything i say is coming out wrong. i'm gonna shut up now. :)
Comment by Choice Kinchen on August 8, 2010 at 2:59pm
Tell him, in a humorous way, to "git 'er done" before he comes to see you. Speaking as a 54 year old man, it's prob safe to say that he can't do it again for a few hours. Not that I would know anything about that....I'm just sayin'............:)

so today I had my first...uh what shall we call it...unintentional happy ending? this was his 2nd session with me. a 50 year old man. he was face down and i was working on his legs. made my first effleurage pass up the leg and back down when all of a sudden he starts apologizing. he says i'm so sorry. the older i get the more these things creep up on me. of course...it took me off guard. but i assured him it was quite alright and is perfectly natural. took me a few moments to get back into the groove of the session. in the end i kinda felt bad for him. i think he was quite embarrassed. gotta good tip though. :) the question is will he come back (get your minds out of the gutter) and 2. will it happen again.

oiy. chalk this one up to experience. :)

I'm with Choice! The visual of you tearing off hollering at goats was a riot! Fabulous way to start the day! Especially after my first client was a no show even after my reminder call last night. The nerve.
