Well the good news is that I bought a new washer/dryer today. The bad news is that I had to use the money that I was saving to go to an Erik Dalton workshop in Nov. But Nov. is still a ways off so maybe.... It will be nice to have a washer that actually spins out the clothes. Ever tried spinning the washer basket by hand? Doesn' t work to well....LOL

Marissa, I have this visual after reading your post and can't stop laughing! Now I have this picture of a little soccer player in utero practicing his moves. Seriously be careful though, landing on your butt while prego will definitely hurt and could possibly give your client a coronary! :)

Hey Ty, I'll trade some of our hot, dry, extremely dry weather for some of that rain. The little bit of green we have here is wilting.

Funny thing happened today... I was in a full lunge position during a massage and I usually just shift my weight to my front/leading foot and pivot for the finishing stroke. Simple enough, right? Well, my inner soccer player decided that he was going to try and mimic the maneuver and it about knocked me on my ass. When he's really rolling around, I have to stay still, because it feels like I'm trying to walk down one of those rope/bouncing bridges after a 12 pack.

You can tell summertime is here, everyone is busy with projects. I am just now getting around to spring cleaning and planting flowers and a few veggies.

Erica, I hope this situation works soon, situations like these bite!

Erica- I'm still thinking scare tactics. How is it anything she is trying to do will hold water? I wish you the best of luck.

Erica, that would be great! And a good workshop...I haven't been to one of those in 25 years. My poor loom hasn't been warped in awhile & my husband is threatening to sell it (he's joking ~ I think!) It's a 40" Mighty Wolf. So as if I need yet another project, one of these days it'll happen. I've never spent much time spinning although I'd like to...a couple rug ideas are brewing, also an idea for a wall hanging for my daughter. A friend of mine has a good wheel; I just have a little drop spindle--challenging and time-consuming for my twelve thumbs, so I just buy my skeins. Guess it would be easier if I could just learn to knit, but that just doesn't click with me.
Funny story: My ex & his wife have a sheep farm (with other assorted livestock) in northern MI...this is after he had spent years ripping on me for "keeping all those animals." Glad somebody got him to come to his senses. My present husband didn't much like animals cuz he'd never been around them...then spent many hours sitting in the pasture with the horse after work every night--the guy is an animal magnet, and has been most patient with me & my "critter jones."

Marilyn--I didn't know you were a weaver! I haven't fully transitioned into becoming a fiber junkie (yet), but I can see it from here. I've gone to a couple of retreats at a Master Weavers' home a few hours north--they also spin, dye, etc., and it's just amazing. I've dinked around with spinning a little and really enjoy a good wheel.

The fiber goats will be for sale, either for fiber or butchering. They belong to a girlfriend of mine down on the front range. She recently processed a bunch of her cashgora fiber and had it up for sale on eBay. (I just went to link to it and it had expired.) It is gorgeous stuff; when she puts it back up again, I'll link to it for you.

The new dog has a massive undercoat that he's still blowing, so I think there's a good chance I'll be collecting that to spin up. If not this year, then next. ('Cause what I really need is a million more projects! Ha!)

The deadline for the next step in legal action isn't for two weeks, so we'll see what we get. I have high hopes, though.

Ty-- We'll just plan for a nice spot on that beach next year!

Marissa-- Hope you & the little Bump are doing okay in this heat. (and has Kevin shown up yet, to help get those appointments?)

Erica--that sounds like such fun. I miss being surrounded by animals every day and while they're a lot of work, it is so worth it. (I sold my last horse 5 years ago and hearhe's looking for a new home again...it's tempting, but for the expense and work commitment!) Dogs & cats for me at this stage in my life. Do you use those card those fibers for your own use, or for sale? I ask because I weave... Hope that legal team is working hard for you and things resolve quickly & in your favor.

Ty--I have every expectation it will, but whether sooner or later remains to be seen. Hopefully sooner.

As for critters . . . our rabbits are now 3 weeks old, we have 4 Toggenburg goats (2 does, 2 yearlings) and will probably wind up keeping 2-3 next year for milk, and we have an Akbash crossbreed as flock guardian. Baby turkeys arrive early next week, we'll be getting yearling fiber goats from a friend in a few weeks, and still want to add on up to four meat goats. Rabbits will be ready to breed here again in another week or so, too.

Kid Rock turning country? Can't say I'm honestly all that surprised, for some reason. Wonder if he'll have to change his name now. :P

Been busy as hell lately, but not massage (sadly). Trying to get things up and running, been doing a ton of volunteer work, and animals have been arriving at the farm. Unfortunately, I've also recently pissed off my ex-boss and lawyers are now involved. *sigh* It'll all work itself out, but just one more thing on my plate I don't need right now. Gah.
