Thanks, Marilyn. The month has been pretty crazy, between trying to get all my tax stuff prepped for my accountant and putting together a brochure for my practice. The tax stuff requires me to travel to Denver (where I also saw clients and did a LOT of driving), and my first designer flaked on me for the brochure.

I've also got quite a bit of volunteer work I've been doing (volunteering for one non-profit, on the board for another, interviewing for a board position for a third that is fairly related to the second) that's been keeping me busy. And then there's prepping the garden, purging underneath the rabbit hutch, cleaning the turkey coops, researching how to build a new one, comparing electric fencing, and so on and so forth.

FWIW, I think developing a clientele in Chicago is a great idea. I've done the same thing with Denver--whenever I need to make a run to the city, I text my clients and work with them out of my old school. I stay with friends, run my errands, get in my social/culture time, and the whole thing is a write-off!

Marissa...Funny you should say that! Actually, I'd rather be here. After a very lucrative "Ladies' Party" this weekend (hosted by my daughter's co-workers) I think I may have to come back to the city once a month to take care of a few massage appointments. The universe provides! I CAN mix work and play! Dylan learns something new every day, watching him is so much more fun than actual 'parenting' perhaps because I actually know what I'm doing this time. Meanwhile, today is our anniversary and my hubby is five hours away...oh well. Phone sex.

Marilyn- Maybe you should just give it up and move out here?!??! Or use some heavy bribery to get them to go out to you! :)

Kevin, that's really wierd. I'm really glad my practice doesn't lend itself to thoughts that "go there". I had only one experience that I shared in the bloopers group early-on and that's all I want! Color me happy, I'm kinda too old to be bothered much, plus there isn't very much I take seriously anyhow.

Erica, thank you! It's great to "see" you again. I saw the movie but it didn't occur to me there's a book, I assumed Slumdog Millionaire was written as a screenplay. I think I would enjoy that.

Marissa, that's wonderful! Glad to hear the babe is growing & obviously thriving. Have fun being preggers while you can. I Ioved it, Earth Mama that I was.

By the way, Happy Earth Day to everyone! (Is that appropriate?) I enjoyed it here in Chicago in beautiful sunny weather with everything blooming in Skinner Park and the baby in the buggy. We must have walked four miles today, and I've lost five pounds since being here. I don't want to go home....

Finally got kicked by the baby! I've been feeling all kinds of shifting the past few weeks, but this was the first substantial "Hey! I'm in here!". Give me another month or two and I'll be begging it to stop, but for now.... too cool.

Marilyn--I've been around more babies in the last two weeks than in probably the prior half-dozen years.

For books, anything by Toni Morrison, especially Love.

Haven't seen the movie, but the audiobook of Slumdog Millionaire is exceptionally brilliant. If you want more suggestions, just ask.

My business is located in a beach/resort/golf area which attracts all types seeking whatever they may desire to do on vacation. Why do some clients (men & women) automatically think that they are "entitled" to an ending of their choice? Is it because they are vacationing and everything's ok or do they simply feel "it doesn't hurt to ask?" I'm find that it's occurring more frequently lately and I think it may be time to post a sign to "lie still and keep your thoughts to yourself!"

Ty bring party favors with you and next time hand her that for the "happy ending". you can even "blow" in one for her. :)

Actually, I have a client who unknowingly ended up in an "unsavory" place of massage. She said she had a great massage and then the gal who gave her the massage kept touching and asking, "are you sure there's nothing else I can do for you?". Light bulb went on and my client turned down the offer and bolted. You just never know!

Opie! My hero! RH has had such a cool career, hasn't he? I admire him. Steve, I like the way you think.

Okay, so call me officially besotted. I spent the week in Chicago being Granny to Dylan. He is now three months old, and it's been 22 years since I've been around babies (if you don't count my chiro's children) and today, he reached his little arms out to me! As in "pick me up, I'm tired of the swing!" So then (this is so unfair) I had to leave him and drive the five hours home (since I have a full book tomorrow and I kinda missed my husband, too) -- But it just doesn't get much better than that, does it? I'm driving back on Sunday...can anyone recommend a good book on tape? Looking forard to seeing the little one again but for the tedious road...except once I hit the heavy downtown Chicago traffic, it's best with Justin Timberlake--"Super Sex Love Sounds." Go figure.
