Marissa, I just stumbled on Ivy Hultquist's blog about being a parent & practitioner...might be cool for you to blog on if you're up for it as things progress. It could be helpful for lots of young therapists out there who might be wondering about the "if/should/could" process of combining this work with pregnancy and parenting. (Menopause, anyone?) ;o)

Marissa--that's fantastic news! Congratulations!

Lisa--Buster looks awesome. :) He looks a lot like a dog we fostered late last summer. Good on you guys for giving him a good home.

Now, that's my kind of dog! Glad to hear things are smoothing out, Lisa ~ so glad you popped in for a minute. **hugs**

As it happens, we just got a new puppy at our house too. I will try to post a pix when I get back on my own computer, but bear with me, I haven't tried it before...Our story with this pup is kinda silly...my younger daughter only wanted tickets to see Lady Gaga for Christmas. When she changed her Detroit venue to a really stupid location just two weeks before the concert, Rin decided she didn't want to go after all. So the puppy was #2 on the list. We've been dogless for a whole year now, which is way too long at our house, so it was a good excuse. and the timing was great. Dogs are so therapeutic to have around and it has taken our minds off Michigan winter blah. Dylan calls, gotta go!

Glad to hear things are finally looking up, Lisa! Did he happen to tear apart a pillow in the yard or is it actually a little snow?!?!? :)

hey all...just popping in for a moment.

my daughter is on the mend. it's still a long road but she is out of the hospital and well there are good days and bad but for the most part she is growing emotionally strong with each passing day. we have had a couple of scares with her meds but working through them.

we added a new addition to the family...his name is Buster Brown (Buster for short). he's a 2.5 year old part shepherd part lab. i felt it was time, since i had been given thought to a dog for a little while now. the idea was to help my son with some of his loneliness of being still somewhat new in TX and it helps my daughter with some of her fears of being alone. and well...with what our family has been through from the divorce and move till now...some solid unconditional luvin' seems to be just right. and for those that believe in "signs"...it so happens that the day i'm with Bianca (who recently came for a visit) and we're meeting Buster...the previous owner gives me his paperwork and the day the pound had originally reviewed him to take him in was on my birthday. so there you have it. and he's been a great dog. sad story how he came to us. his owner is an older gentleman that became "dad" to his 5 yo granddaughter. well he's dying of lymphoma and is basically preparing to die. he moved out of his house just this past weekend so he could sell it. the little girl will eventually be adopted by the family that was helping him look for a home for Buster. and well...he also needed to find a good home for the dog.

i've got lots of work i'm trying to catch up on now that things are starting to settle down a bit. so i'm still a bit too busy for lots of chat...but i'm looking still and it's been wonderful to see the out pour of support. Thanks everyone!!
