Combine them!

Saturday night, we had dinner with friends under the stars. The fire pit was going, which negated a little of the star watching in that vicinity. The goats were out, and apparently startled the hell out of one of our guests by playing "Rampaging Herd of Wildebeast on the Serengeti" for some reason. Nothing like a herd of goats clattering out of the dark to get your heart going! :D

I can't decide if I want to visit Ty and sit out and watch the stars with an adult beverage....as they're called here in Utah....or chase goats at Erica's. Hard call to make.

For those of you complaining about the heat, we had our first slight frost a couple of days ago. We're going to have to start covering the garden at night, too.

The goats are starting to roam quite a bit, too. We've already caught them noshing on the neighbor's flowers once. We had friends stay with us on Saturday night, and there was goat chasing (by Greg) in between their massages on Sunday morning. Ah well. At least it's never dull around here.

Still beating the heat here today with some time in the pool (really a big tub) and a good book and some wine. Has anyone watched the meteor shower in the wee hours this week? I found myself outside around 3:30 this morning (just kidding, the pup had to go) and the shooting stars were amazing. Too bad we sold the trampoline a couple years ago, it was the perfect place to spread a blanket and stargaze awhile -- but a tarp on the grass works pretty well. (Visqueen is also fun, but then you also need a large bowl of jello...)

Here is wishing for cooler temperatures for us all, I too am sick of the hot muggy weather.

Marilyn, not sure that you want my help, I would probably be more of a hindrance than help! I put in vinyl 'wooden floor look' floors. I wanted the real thing but the bank account said no. It really does look great and the added bonus is that it is not as slippery as wood or tile floors. Great traction for oily feet. :)

Ty, my days of being a handywoman are over....after I get the living room and dining room painted....

Oh Marissa, you sure know how to pick 'em, don't you?! Hope you can find relief from it. Think of it this way, it could be better than having to hold a newborn in your arms and against your bod all day..so I hope it cools down by your due date. Meanwhile, I feel your discomfort. How are your feet holding up?

It's only 85 degrees here today and the pool is only at 77, too chilly for me cuz I'm a wuss and we didn't install the solar heater this year. I love the heat and humidity this year since we generally don't get to see much of this in MI. The down-side is, I'm painting the kitchen cabinets and since we don't have AC, the project had to be put on hold until the humidity goes down...the cupboards will be forever tacky if I apply another coat. Bummer too, since work is always slow right before school starts and I have spare time at the moment.

Then ya'll don't want to hear that we had a taste of cooler weather here in Salt lake City. It's now 2:45pm and 82 deg with 16% humidity. It will go back up into the 90's soon.....but the humidity stays nice and comfy.

It's hot, humid, I'm ready to burst... We have officially gone down in the history books as being the hottest summer ever. Figures, huh?!?

Steve, I saw this one too ~ Holy cow! As a good Finnish girl, even I have limits...I wonder what the point was, especially when tradition dictates a jump in cold water for maximum benefits..and the hissing might have been entertaining!

Yes! A reality show! It could be sort-of Martha Stewart with a twist...call it "Goat Roping with Erica"...that way the gardening and poultry and cocktail mixing could be included...and a nice massage at the end of every episode. ;o)

Donna, what kind of flooring did you install? I'm about to do my kitchen...wanna come over to play?

Poopsie has been pooped-out under the desk or on the window sill since she came inside. She is repentant as hell and eating like it's her job. Miniature donkey...hmmm, I never thought of that! Yes, they are cute, my cousin has a white one. I do miss equine presence around here.

Lisa, I think I'd be inclined to just apply the "ignore and move on" philosophy...but even though I see lots of men, accidents have never happened so I can"t say for sure.
