Thanks, everyone, for your support and well-wishes. The two-week deadline for a response on their end is almost up, so I'm sure I'll have news to report next week. Hopefully, it'll be that she's withdrawn her claim. If not--well, yes, most of goats do have horns! *chuckle*

Marilyn--info on the get-together I'm going to this weekend is here. Carol does them 3-4 times a year now; you should think about coming out for one. I won't be at the September one this year (cousin getting married), but perhaps come January next year . . . ? I think you'd really like it.

I got a kick out of your ex/current husband and the critters stories. My sweetie is from CT and never spent much time around animals. Aside from horses when I rode for a few years, neither have I. Yet, somehow we wound up with this little farm last year and he LOVED it. *laugh*

Seems to me his point was sort of about massage therapy being the first therapy to be deemed unimportant...there was so much other baggage in the way, it was difficult to say. Some of his points made sense, many of his facts were questionable, as I've researched this myself from a political standpoint and arrived at a different conclusion.

As massage therapists we have to be in a "good place" to give and receive treatment, right? What bums me out is, after so many interactions on that level, and a few classes during the course of two days, we were slam-dunked into another totally different format ~ I felt blind-sided. It was so unnecessary. I'm curious what others are thinking about this and I've been unsuccessful finding any other comments on this site, so if you know if other groups discussing this. let me know. Meanwhile, I went sailing this morning at 6 a.m. and did a little shopping, then floated in the pool, had a wonderful dinner prepared by my nephew & his girlfriend...now I'm back in the pool. It's still in the eighties here (at 9 p.m.) and the music is really loud...now that's therapeutic!

I can see where you're coming from, Marilyn! It seems to me that therapists are the least likely to get all political, except of course when it infringes on our rights as therapists. Did that just make any sense!??! Time and place......

Ty, that's heartbreaking! I hope she turns up...sending light & love to all of you.

Okay, okay ~ there was a speaker on the closing night who thought it was just ducky to give us the Tea Party Script" with all the usual "ohmygod-ohmygod!!" vernacular. To my way of thinking, it was the wrong forum, definately the wrong timing, and totally the wrong audience for that. I do not like naming-names and pointing fingers, tho...especially since there were many in the audience who seemed to totally agree with his political platform. I would feel the same about this even if I did agree...which I do not...and no, I wasn't one of the group of people who actually stood with their backs turned and/or participated in the shouting-back and door-slamming (please, I'm rowdy, not rude!) Fortunately the next speaker had the grace to have the didgeridoo player play his 'horn' before she spoke...it certainly helped break up the negative energy in the room and, I thought, was a very wise thing to do. The rest of the speeches were lovely and after that, I just had to get the heck out of town...no sock hop action for me that night. Just not in the mood for schmoozing after all.

Oh, Erica--the fire spinner was pretty good, his performance just made me think of you & wish you were there.

Ty, I am so sorry. Prayers and lots of positive energy being sent to Zoey, you and hubby. Try to stay positive, I know it is hard.

Marilyn, yours is the third post I have read that has mentioned problems the last night of the WMF. One said the experience was good despite the problems and the other seemed pretty upset. No one has said what happened, needless to say I am curious...

The WMF classes were great and I'm glad I attended. The rest was okay, lots of warm, friendly people...and the last evening was a complete downer and pissed me off bigtime. For the moment, I'm gonna float in the pool and forget I was even there. Not sure if I'll go back next year... more later and perhaps there will be a blog in the meantime from somebody who thought it was as inappropriate as I did.

Sitting here waiting for my next client, because I had a no-show. So annoying. Why make the appointment if you aren't going to keep it? This even after a confirmation phone call last night! I'm seriously considering implementing a no-show/cancellation policy.

Donna- that sucks! Isn't that always the way? I've got a long list of things that keep getting put off to the side, because more "pressing" matters come up. Namely the fact that my husband is still only working 3 days a week. Puts a damper on the business improvements. May your laundry be fabulous, and your piggy bank fill up fast!

Marissa, sounds like you might just have the karate kid in there! I'm laughing at the visual, too.

Donna, you're more than welcome to our rain! Unfortunately, looks like it came from your direction in the first place...I just drove home tonight (from Chicago to Metro Detroit) through the worst monsoon I've ever seen ~ took me 7 hours! So now it's almost 4:00 a.m. and my husband will be home from work in a couple hours, so I guess I'll make it an all-nighter and make some oatmeal--coffee would be nice, but my nerves are shot after that drive! Leaving Thursday for a quick visit to the WMF then on to SC to float in my sister's pool for a few days and have lovely, restoring drinks...Should be fun, maybe even rowdy. I'll be thinking of you guys. (Especially you, Erica--Good luck with stuff.)
