EXPLORING CHAKRAS-July 23 & 24 2011, Lafayette, La

When our chakras (energy centers) are in balance, we function at a much higher rate of health and well being.  An exploration of the energy field will assist in learning about any imbalances that may contribute to problems in our lives and how we can return to a state of balance. This knowledge is valuable in understanding the mind, body connection with ourselves, our families and our clients. Aura photos will be taken during the workshop and information about what the colors mean for you will be available. An energetic technique using light touch will be learned during this class.

Upcoming CE Courses in Ft. Myers FL

I am offering two unique workshops in Ft. Myers over the Memorial Day weekend. The first, Indian Champissage™ (Head Massage) is a 3-day course for 21 CE hours. The second, Kansa Vatki Foot Massage™, is a 1-day course for 7 CE hours.  Both courses are NCBTMB approved (450489-07) and FL approved (50-10661).

What:     Indian Champissage™ (Head Massage)

When:    May 27-29(Fri/Sat/Sun)  9:00 - 5:00 each day

Where:  La Quinta Inn/Ft. Myers Central, 4850 S. Cleveland.

Indian Champissage has been popular in India for over a thousand years.  The head, neck, shoulders and upper back - areas where tension is more likely to accumulate - are gently, firmly and rhythmically massaged until the pressure simply melts away.  This unique therapy combines physical and subtle massage with energy balancing to produce feelings of perfect peace.  It is a wonderful alternative to seated chair massage.

What:     Kansa Vatki Foot Massage

When:    May 30 (Mon) 9:00 - 5:00

Where:  La Quinta Inn/Ft. Myers Central, 4850 S. Cleveland

Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is a beautiful and relaxing healthcare modality which balances the body, mind and spirit.  This unique treatment, steeped in centuries of Ayurvedic ceremony, incorporates ghee (clarified butter).  The heart of the treatment involves vigorously rubbing the soles of the feet with a

3-metal bowl to draw heat and toxins out of the body thereby inducing tremendous relaxation.  The Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is deeply revitalizing for tired feet and legs, and it makes a perfect addition to reflexology.

Art Riggs teaches at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork. I second Tina's recommendation of that school for someone who wants to study in the Bay Area. Warmly, Ariana area.http://www.deeptissuemassagemanual.com/workshops.html

Candice,

The San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork has a very good reputation! I would start there.

But you can look on the www.massage-education.com/massage-school-in-california.html website for a list of all the schools in the area. It will connect you to their websites also.

Hello Everyone! I just founf out about this site today! Pretty cool!

I currently live in Orange County but i will be relocating to the Bay area in the end of June. Does anyone have any insight or experience in any of the schools up there? I am aimng for Marin County but anywhere up there is fine.

I have been teaching at a local college since June 2009, and I would like to continue teaching but not sure where to focus my energy near San Fran...any ideas?

I just joined Kelly's Sanders' group, "Team Fibromyalgia" on Facebook and I sent her a friend request on Massage and Bodywork Professionals. Don't you just love networking? Thanks for your post, Kelly.

Great trade shows and educational conferences include the AMTA Conference, the World Massage Festival, the Texas Association of Massage Therapists conference, the American Massage Conference in Atlanta, and any many others. You can use Google to find massage conference details.

There are also numerous individuals who offer workshops and conferences, including, but not limited to Erik Dalton, Til Luchau, Art Riggs (Til and Art have a workshop coming up in Costa Rica this month), Gil Hedley, Whitney Lowe, Tracy Walton, and numerous other educators.
