Hi Gary
I will try to answer some of your questions to the best of my ability.
Trigger points are not the same as acupressure technique. A Trigger point is areas of hyperactivity/stimulus in the tissue that create a painful trigger response in the muscle or connection tissue and can refer to other regions. Neuromuscular therapy is one technique that helps relieve a trigger point.
Acupressure is a technique that is applied in regions, usually along meridians to open/balance energy.
Trigger point therapy applies sustained pressure to release endorphins to ease the pain cycle in the tissue.
So the points don't necessarily coincide.
As for reflexology - since it is a theory for thousands of years you will find differences in charts and information. Pressure is applied similar to acupressure on the reflex points that pertain to the organs (another system vs. meridians).
Do modalities overlap? Yes, I agree they do. I have seen many modalities, if not all, date back thousands of years with similar foundations and theories.
It does seem that we all call upon our ancestry and lineage to design and develop new styles, theories and techniques.
