I have a question--actually, a few. Aren't acupressure and trigger point therapy generally the same?--don't many of the points coincide? And, it seems that no two reflexology charts assign the same points; for example, on one, the base of the third toe is assigned to ears, but on another, it's the base of the distal two toes. Also, don't many of the modalities overlap?--many seem to be quite similar, except for the names.

As a former school owner and current continuing education provider, It is so delightful to see the positive comments from the massage students.

I have a massage career blog and write articles occasionally for Massage Today, Future LMT and other publications.

I am currently studying at the Healing Arts under the guidance of Tom Tessereau not only is a wonderful teacher but a fantastic person as well. I am very much enjoying the energy work we are learning I was just certified in Reiki One and cant wait to learn the next two levels and in a few weeks we will start with Pranic Healing I am really leaning towards energy work but not sure how to make that the main focus of my practice

Welcome Christi - just watch the transformation in your forearms - clinicals and massage practice will double as muscle building! You will only keep getting better!

Welcome Stacey! Specializing is smart, but you don't have to limit yourself either. Massage/Bodywork are very CE focused careers - you can continually specialize!

Please let me know if I can be a resource to either of you!

Massage school is exactly where I am supposed to be right now :) I'm already a Certified Reiki Master and needed the push to get some abundance flowing while I am pursuing my calling to be a healer. Working on figuring out where I want my specialty to be for my AOS...Spa Arts & Sciences, Touch Therapy or ???

I absolutely LOVE it!! Everyday I cant wait to learn something new! My only fear at the current moment is that I wont be able to give good pressure bc I am skinny and dont have much forearm muscle.

Hi Zully! So glad you joined - and to hear that you've found the career meant for you. School, when done right, should present some challenges and stress. Thats how you know it is working. I can't think of a better was to offset it then to get a daily massage - what a treat! If you feel stuck with homework/research, I would be happy to help point you to articles or resources that may be helpful. Just let me know!

Getting a massage everyday in school spoils you. Now that I have a month off I miss it.
