Congratulations Jennifer! There are alot of great products out there, and it really comes down to a matter of preference. I have sensitive skin, so always appreciate a MT who uses an organic, chemical free lotion, like pure Shea butter. It has a great consistancy - is somewhat oily but not greasy. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to it for scent too.

Congratulations in advance, Jennifer on your July graduation. I still have a year to go.
After completing a certification course in Lomilomi one of my favorite instructors began employing Safflower oil-- a cooking oil. He loves the way it works. Me, I prefer a mixture of jojoba and lotion. I like giving the long, flowing strokes as well as clients enjoy receiving them, but only a taking a discovery tour of the body, searching for TPs, etc.

Greetings all! I graduate in July (*happy dance*). Was just wondering what lotions, etc. you all have tried, what you like and why? Tried an oil on my husband that made me feel like I was rubbing a Butter Ball for baking. ;-) (of course it was the first time I used it...glad it was him so I could "LOL" the entire session...)

Have you entered? Education is an investment. It's a slice of time where you are investing in yourself, your knowledge, your future. You're paying for tomorrow today, and I want to encourage you to get every dollar out of your education by being present in the classroom. Take as much as you can. Sierra - great question! You actually already do have coverage for both on-premise and practice-related student work. The policy you have (with ABMP) is individual (as apposed to an umbrella school policy) meaning that you are covered as an individual wherever you practice. The stipulation is that while you are a student, you are only practicing. If you accept payment you can only do so in the form of a tip, or a 'donation toward your education'. Hi Todd - I sent you a private email in regard to this as well, but basically, yes. If you are practicing as a student off school premises, you would be wise to maintain an individual student liability plan. I sent you some more specific info privately, and welcome your questions!
