Noreen,
Ginger and Juniper essential oils have a warming and stimulating effect, increase circulation, and help to ease muscular pain as well as digestive cramps. You can add 2 to 3 drops of essential oils to 3 tablespoons of your carrier oil. . . but I would use cautiously on people who have high blood pressure that is not well controlled with meds.

I use fraccionated coconut oil- unscented and lovely, it glides well enough for hot stone and bamboo work, but is almost water soluable. Not sticky or heavy. A bit pricey tho... To warm the oil I use either the mini crockpot ( for dips) and put some water in it then the plastic bottle with oil in there, or the coffer warmer things. You just put hot water in the mug and set it on the little hot coaster like you would to keep your coffee warm, and then put a small plastic flip-top bottle of oil in there and voila! Inexpensive and it works! and yes, you can add your own aromatherapy/essential oils to the unscented carrier oil which makes it nice to cutomize for your clients. I also have a table warmer pad underneath my sheets- particularly nice in the winter!

I use coconut oil off and on and love it!! I heat a bowl of water and place the jar in it- they transfer the oil to my pump bottle. Before each client I placed the bottle in the bowl of hot water and my clients love it. I also put essential oil in as well. My cliets love it especially warm!!!

I just bought a small jar to try. I was wondering about how it may work doing a massage with?
Thank you.

Does anyone have experience using coconut oil?

Yes, I too use a rice bag,as well as I have a electric blanket on top of my table to warm the client.
I would like to find a lotion or gel that expels heats.

Noreen, I will be curious about a warming product myself. I do have an herbal heat jell that i am using from time to time but don't find it too effective. My clients do love the rice (dry of course) pack that I made and microwave, so I warm the table up before they get in, and then place it on their body. It keeps the heat pretty good and lasts for the duration of the session. I also have an infra red heating lamp which is great.

Thanks Eeris. Let us know when you make your video on how to make your own lotion. I may give it a try.

Now with the winter coming close. I was wondering what u>warming products that everyone likes to use.
I work on many senior clients that really appreciate the warming affect on their bodies. Me too when its cold outside.

Noreen, I must say that yes... its a bit time consuming, it take me about an hour of perp and clean up (can be messy so wear an apron) so its not too bad and i make about 64oz and that lasts me for about 4-6 weeks. Not sure about cost effective but i never sat down to calculate. If i remember correctly I spent about $150 in materials and it lasted me 18 month so that's less than $10 a month for a pretty busy practice. So I think its pretty good. How much do people spend on lotion and oils? Its just worth it me because i know what's in it and its all real good quality ingredients.
