Hi everyone. I work at a Day Spa in Hermitage. No I don't do "FooFoo" massages. lol But with slow season here I feel that a barely work lol I just hope it picks up soon for us. Hermitage is a economically challenged town to begin with,

Donna, I read my email and it said you wanted some details on what each one of us do. So here it goes...I travel to peoples homes, and I also provide my home as well for clients. I do massage and energy work. I am a Reiki Master teacher and I do Reiki, Reflexology, Hypnotherapy, and Swedish massage at each session. I feel that more people need to know that massage is not entertainment and it helps the body, mind and spirit. I am finally getting out in the community, working full time in accounting due to being a single mom...but I do massages when the clients call... Blessings to all of you that are doing it full time. I am hoping that will happen soon. Been at this for 14-15 years now.

I operate my massage business as I travel aroun the U.S. I promote massage to therapists. instructors, schools and the general public 24/7. No one else I know has my type of massage related work.

I operate in Clarion with my business focusing mostly on massages as a therapy but have completed additional training to offer dry room spa techniques (which I almost never do anything with).

Wow! That's really fascinating. I know when I was in school I was warned of such occurrences and completely expected something when I opened my own first establishment. Then, nothing.

However, when I moved to a different location the borough requested proof of training as well as insurance. I wasn't at all offended but rather took it as a sign they recognized the difference and were doing their job accepting only the right form of massage.

I'm grateful how far the profession as a whole has come and even happier with the changes PA is finally making.

One of the things I repeatedly gripe about is that cosmotologists have to be licensed to do hair but (until recently) nothing was in effect here in PA.

Massage is becoming better understood in the town I work in, so that's really nice for not only me but others that provide massage here.

I agree Donna. It's very exciting.

I'm located in Erie, Pa. A couple months ago one of our local news stations did an expose on the "massage palors" around the area. I'm hoping when the licensure goes into effect it will help to deal the with frustration that comes with these types of places being around.

Hi Pennsylvanians. I've been a Bodyworker for over 7 years and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I'm ecstatic about Gov. Rendall finally signing for PA Bodyworker's Licensing. I've been waiting for this since I graduated from massage school in 2002.

I look forward to connecting with others from PA.
