I'm thrilled to see that St. Louis has a group. It's so much closer to me and I'm glad to see the activity.
As far as the posting on Advanced certification---I'm glad to do it. Even through the bumps in the road, I'm certain that certification is a crucial component to our profession and I want to make sure that the needs of the profession are served-and that certification is a strong entity that can work for us.

NCB typically does not get involved in issues of reciprocity---or at least they haven't in the past. That is something that is usually done between the states. The requirements for licensure are fairly identical---hours, CE requirements, etc. The main difference is that Illinois only recognizes NCB exams for licensure. Have you had issues with filing for reciprocity in Illinois? If you have thoughts on how NCB could assist in this, I'm all ears. All of the organizations need to work together with a strong collaborative effort to ensure that the professionals, schools, etc., are getting what they need. Our numbers are huge nationwide---if we could use them together, there would be nearly 300,000 professional massage therapists working toward these initiatives!!!!!! That's an amazing number.
Any thoughts you have on how NCB can assist in this effort, please let me know.

Thanks,
Angie

Hi Angela,
Thank you for joining the St Louis Group!

I also thank you for your response on the NCB advance certification questions site.

Regarding the St Louis Area group concerns, Is the NCB engaged in any effort to make Missouri & Illinois licenses mutually recognized.

Thanks Cindy! I worked the MS-150 event in Columbia this year with team Sirius, and will be back next year.

Did you by chance attend the Healing Arts Center?

Hello! I'm from St. Louis and attended massage school there. I'm living in wonderful Columbia, Mo now, but still have strong ties and occassionally work in St. Louis. The best of both worlds.

Yeah! St. Louis Massage Therapists!!! Although I live in Illinois, I'm about 20 miles from St. Louis! So glad to see that there is a group here!
