I like to take some time to get to know my stones when they come home, to honor them for all of the work that we will be doing together and to welcome them into my life. I like to give them a bath, then lay them out of the floor in a nice design and give them a nice smudge with sage. Then, I sit down and rub each stone with oil, getting to know the feel of it in my hand.
It is important to season your new stones with oil (jojoba is my favorite) as often, the stones come and are very dry and not ready for work with the body. Once they are seasoned, they don't soak up as much of the oil that you are putting on your client.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
