They all need to be washed. A good dishwashing detergent will do just fine. Or a Hot Stones Disinfectant is good as well. Let them air dry and then lay them out in the sun to gather some energy. Some folks spray them with Alcohol as well. I do not.

If you also bought a new heater, it needs to be turned on and heated for about 2 days or so to burn off that new odor. It smells terrible if the hearter is used without the burning off step. Do not let it run for 2 days straight. Turn it on and let it run while it can be monitored at the 130 degree level or so.
Got the heater going and you are right. Stinky! Can't imagine doing this with a client. Thanks for the suggestion. Hope for sunshine tomorrow.
I like to take some time to get to know my stones when they come home, to honor them for all of the work that we will be doing together and to welcome them into my life. I like to give them a bath, then lay them out of the floor in a nice design and give them a nice smudge with sage. Then, I sit down and rub each stone with oil, getting to know the feel of it in my hand.

It is important to season your new stones with oil (jojoba is my favorite) as often, the stones come and are very dry and not ready for work with the body. Once they are seasoned, they don't soak up as much of the oil that you are putting on your client.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
Thanks Shanna,

You are so right. I have given 3 massages so far with the new stones, and thanks goodness I have been working on friends and family instead of paying clients. Getting to know the heater too has been challenging too. I have been giving the massage with the Jojoba and the stones still seem to soak the oil up. Finding what works on the body too. I am concerned at how short the heat remain in the stones. Not very long at all. Seems I have to get new ones to complete the anterior leg.

Looking forward to a full moon so I can get them outside.

Thanks again
