Dear Kris,

Hi! You wrote to me over a month ago in re: my Massachusetts massage licensing issues. I am glad to know that someone read what I wrote. I haven't been active here, hence the long time in responding to your question.

I have not gone ahead with any more plans about licensing as I felt I hit a dead end with the Board. It's very frustrating and I am still not sure what to do.

Everything I said pretty much remains: I want to practice as a massage therapist, and although I am more than qualified with hundreds and hundreds of hours of schooling and different certifications, not to mention the fact that I've done massage for thousands of hours over the period of 22 years, the Board will still take my money, deny my license, and require me to make up 300 hours of schooling because my original Ohio license does not have enough hours and my Amherst license expired in 2004.

ICK!!!! Sorry to dump, but that's where things still are. I am not simply a "bodyworker," but am a massage therapist who specializes in deep tissue, neuromuscular, and pregnancy massage. Only if I tell people this, I can get fined $1000.

That's all. Thanks for reading and asking questions. I presume you are working and happy as a massage therapist. Best to you! Katherine
