Roger,
Just wanted to let you know what a fan I am of your work! You visited PMTI in DC a few years ago, and demonstrated Trager. Your demonstration turned me into a big fan, and while I am newly licensed, I plan to become certified in Trager.
I'm new to this on-line community stuff, and may not get on here to participate often. But couldn't resist a functioning group on Trager.
This work has been my life and livelihood for 25 years. Teaching Milton's simple genius is such a joy. When I started my practice, I couldn't help wanting all my clients to understand and integrate these potent and life changing principles. I think I probably scared some clients away with my enthusiasm and with my insistence that they be active players in their body experience.
And now, as I am teaching, I am finding that more and more massage therapists are burning out because they somehow missed, or weren't taught that it is more effective to work smarter instead of harder...that working easily communicates ease as a quality of being directly through the tissue to the unconscious mind of the client...that the most effective "treatment" for most client situations is is the most conservative...(sensory re-education --teaching new, more positive, feeling experiences). Although I am committed to and professionally identified as practicing Trager, the tools this work offers Massage Therapists can be career-saving. More on my website, www.rogertolle.net.
