I am currently looking to buy a massage chair. I am debating between 2 different chairs offered on massagewarehouse.com. The first is the NRG grasshopper which is less expensive and the other is the stronglite ergo pro chair which is more money. I'm looking for information on either one of the chairs. Im debating whether it is worth it to spend the more money for the ergo chair or if I will be just as happy using the less expensive grasshopper? I do not need anything flashy I just need a chair to use at events. What are your thoughts?

I really think as far as equipement is concerned...you get what you pay for. That is what the client is seated on, you don't want poor quality such as squeaking or wobbles! I have the Stronglite and LOVE it. It is super light to cart around too which is nice. Very adjustable. I'm a student who has been able to try others at school to compare and I like my Stronglite the best hands down.

I have both chairs and while both are good the Stronglite is goingt to last longer. Many have said already that if you invest well the first time you wont have to do it again for a long time. The Oakworks chair is great also. Look at the actual companies website also for more details on the chairs. I run a school and have alot of different types. I also like the Pieces and the Avalon II from earthlite.

Oakworks. I have tried many chairs over the last 15 years and it is the only one I would buy or recommend, period. It is more expensive but worth every penny for its durability and ease of use.

I know what you mean.

The chair I got rid of when I bought my oakworks chair had two adjustments for the face rest.

I thought it was a design flaw.

I was going through the same decision two months ago. I went with the Earthlite Vortex on Massage Warehouse and I love it. My only issue with it is there are two knobs for adjusting the face cradle height, rather than just one. Also, I think I got it less than five days after ordering it, Massage Warehouse rocks.

I found my massage chair on ebay. It was a lot inexpensive than buying brand new.. plus it was rarely used. I have also found ads on Craigslist for chairs. Just becareful, make sure if you find one on craigslist, to see it before committing to buy. I have a Oakworks Portal Pro.. and i would not go any other way.

If you buy quality, you cry once (a wise therapist told me this once).

I had an inexpensive chair and a client fell due to lack of solid construction.

I LOVE oakworks portable pro. It's worth buying. Try to locate a used if you cannot afford a new one.

Good luck.
