Points for Profit - and Practice Building

I saw a 75 minute power point presentation on Friday evening by Honora
Lee Wolfe - she is the author of a book called "Points for Profit" -
the presentation was geared to acupuncture students and how they can
begin to market their practice BEFORE finishing school. I'm quite a
ways away from finishing my Masters at SWAC, however I am actively
running my massage therapy practice (for over 22 years!) and found
tidbits that she presented to be very applicable - and useful
immediately in my practice.

One thing was - put an ad in your state's Chiropractic newsletter!
What a great idea!!!

Another was social networking - FaceBook, Twitter, writing a blog, etc.

Also - she highly recommended narrowing down a niche and really
becoming an expert on it - that it makes you less threatening to
others in your field, and easier to refer to. She suggested this to
brand new acupuncture grads - because you can get specific and gather
the training and knowledge while still in school. She mentioned an
acupuncturist who is the world authority on psoriasis!

When someone in the gathering asked how one figures out what to
specialize in, Honora Lee replied, "Pray".

I'm going to check out her book and add it to my marketing collection.

And I'm certainly praying about what my specialty will be.
