Canada has released some short commercials that will air throughout Canada in the next couple of months. I will try to follow up and see if they were effective.

At this link, click on the subheading... "Join MTABC", at the top... go to bottom link to view actual commercials.
Do you think commercials might help educate the public some and start working against the TV shows and inuendo being thrown around Hollywood?

Thanks for posting this MIke. I am in Canada, but I had heard nothing about this. Of course, I am not in British Columbia and this particular ad is produced by the BC association and aimed specifically at BC clients. I wonder
if there will be anything similar in the other provinces?
I do think it's a good commercial and definitely would help to combat some of the negative stereotypes being perpetuated by Hollywood
3,000 hours! That's a lot of time for basic certification.
Don't blink.. a lot would like to head in that direction.

Something strange is happening on this site. There are obviously TWO contributors named "LEE"
The "other" Lee said "3000 hrs - that's a lot for basic certification". I did not post that remark.
BC, Canada has had a 3,000 requirement for many years. Ontario and Newfoundland have had 2,200 hours for many years, although we have changed from an hour-based program to a competency-based requirement
This is the standard requirement in the regulated provinces in Canada

Thanks MIke. I was briefly confused by seeing someone respond under "my" name, but of course Lee is a common name and it's not surprising that there are two of us!
