massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hi everyone,

I currently work at a spa. There are many things I like about it, especially being able to focus on massage and not on marketing (clearly not my strong suit).

We are required to sell retail products, massage series, and encourage re-booking. This is my downfall and consequently don't get as many clients as the others.

Any suggestions on how to sell or get the client to re-book?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

thank you for starting a great thread for this forum. This is a hot topic and was very challenging for me at first. I hope others also chime in. Here's a few ideas to get started:

First, never 'sell'. Always provide an opportunity to acquire a benefit.

Second, never omit asking for repeat business but first built rapport and position yourself as a pro.

Provide a great service whose highlights are clear, concise communication, client-centered, process-oriented dialogue, and therapeutically relevant contact.
