Here Is An Idea!

When I opened my business in Florida, it made me look at things individually more. I didn't like the way you tapped on the door to make sure the client was ready.

So, I bought these button devices at Radio Shack that were each keyed to a small light on the intake tables outside each room. I would explain the system to the client as I made them comfortable in the room. This also gave them more time to disrobe, without worry of anyone coming in before they were ready. This helped them relax and get ready instead of rushing.

The therapist could review soap notes and just wait for their light to blink. I really liked it because, no one had to speak. The therapist would enter, regain the button device and begin the massage.

Another thing was a touch sensitive light dimmer. They would decide the lighting while they were massaged.

What neat tips can you pass on?

Hey Mike, what is the name of that light system you bought? I was trying to come up with something along those lines for my office.

Wow, I really don't. Six years and many devices ago. They were white with little buttons. It came with a plug in part to the wall that you plugged the light into. The button device was about the size of a car door opener. You were able to key in a, b or c. They only had those three choices. At that time, I was in a 4 room place. I used a remote door bell for the last room. I took cotton and muffled the sound box to where only the therapist at the intake table could hear it.

I'll have to look around. I was trying to think of a way to have a light above the door that the person could flip a switch and turn the light on when they were ready. Guess I should ask one of my many electrician friends. LOL! Thanks for teh info.

What an intersting concept. I might have to check this out for future use; although, I have an elderly client that has no problem bellering out when ready - it works.
