I am a massage therapist and been one for 3 years now. I love doing what i do but i want to go back to school. The only problem is, is that i want to go back and study something that is relevant to massage. Something that i can use with massage. I was thinking acupuncture but im not intrested in that.

i know i can do continuing education (CEU's), but I dont have much money so it will have to be a degree that accepts Financial aid.. Or even if theres a place i can pay slowly.

Any ideas?

Homeopathic medicine? Chiropractic? Herbology? Physical Therapy? Nutritionist/dietician? Life coaching? Any of those plus more I can't think of off the top of my head!
How about Reflexology, fitness training, or aesthetics?
i think she wants an added tool in the toolbox kinda thing. i can see what you are saying, but that doesn't seem to grasp her question and answer it fully. she just wants ideas, not advice, at least that what it sounds like to me.

I'd keep with the massage therapy thing until you had the money to pursue other things instead of going back to school for something on a whim just because you want to learn and get yourself into more debt possibly. There's tons of things you can learn on the side - just go to the library and read - new modalities, herbs, aromatherapy, nutrition and health, exercising, etc.

Better yet team up with a client and barter services to learn more 'bout their profession / volunteer a few hours and see what things might interest you more before spending any money/ time for more schooling- esp.ly if you're not sure which way you'd like to go.

Csepulveda,

Hi Its official 2 years on my new lifes journey in Massage Therapy, isnt it wonderful. There is so much to do out there and there are lots of wonderful instructors, you are in the right place here at this site. Pick out what it is you want to do, and go from there, so far as funds are concerned check your local town for grants because there are people who will help you. There are lots of School owners here who will be more than happy to give you some great advice. In the mean time do not get borde with what you want to do. Also check with ABMP for CE classes which can be more affordable, for shoter terms. If you want to learn a specific modailitie, try another one other than what you are doing now, until you find what it is you are looking for. Peace to you, Travis

Try Thai Yoga massage. Especially on the mat. You keep your clothes on and just completely let go. It's massage, but it is different enough to seem different and you won't have to go back to school and pay those bills. There are so many different ways to massage and to head in another direction after only three years, that's expensive. Good Luck!!!

Ahhh, Thai Yoga! Such a good idea Mike! That's been on my mind too lately, that would be so awesome to incorporate!
Samantha, not being confrontational at all, and sorry if sounds that way. I am just very much to the point and a bit too literal for my own good sometimes! You have awesome suggestions I do agree with, of course.
