massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hello everyone, I have a job interview with a chiropractor this Monday. I have been doing corporate chair massage for the past 7 years and have not interviewed in years.  I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how I should prepare for the interview?  What questions should I be expected to answer? Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Julio

Do you know assessments that will help you be specific with your limited time?
Do you know how to treat low back pain? Headaches, pain down the arm, pain around the shoulder, hip pain, pain down the thigh, toe pain, heel pain, etc.
Do you practice a modality that releases trigger points?
Do you know stretches to follow releases & re-educate the clients neuro-muscular system?
What is your approach for acute pain?
If given a vertebra, would you know which muscles might need attention?

Questions to ask the D.C.
How important is soft tissue in treating patients?
How are treatment plans developed?
How often do you refer patients for massage?
Do I pay rent, or do you pay me a commission, or how does it work?
If commission, How much does the patient pay for a massage & How much do I earn for a massage?

You should be just as prepared to ask questions so that means researching the company as much as you can and learning about how they work. Here are some ideas: http://bit.ly/hLDh6v
