Does anyone have a really good voicemail script that they'd like to share?

I wish I had written down the exact wording of some of the best ones I've heard! I work at ABMP and we are always calling members, so we get to hear a LOT of voicemail messages from massage therapists and skin care practitioners. I am always surprised by how many people do not have a personalized voicemail message on their main business number, or if they do, they just say something like "Hello, this is (name), please leave a message."
The best ones I have heard go something like this (just from memory...) "Hello, this is (name) at (business name), providing therapeutic massage and blah blah blah in the Lakewood area. I'm with a client or away from the phone right now, so please leave a message. If you would like to make an appointment, please let me know what day and time you'd like to come in, and remember to leave your name and phone number so I can call you back to confirm. You can also book online and find out more about our services at www.blah blah blah .com. Thanks for calling, and have a wonderful day!"
I think a lot of people are concerned about making their voicemail message too long but this does not really take up a lot of time to listen to, and remember that when a potential client calls, they are already planning on spending a minute or two talking to you and making an appointment. So, you might as well give them the chance to do it right then and there. :)
I agree with what Carrie said, but add in that the message must be left with a professional voice, slowly and clearly.
And I've got a warning of what to NOT say, 'I will get back to you at my earliest convenience"... so many people make the mistake of saying this and it is actually backwards, because the client is supposed to get a return call ASAP, not at your convenience, which basically means, when you get around to it...
call me a stickler...
have fun and good for you by focusing on the little details like this!
Definitely! And, when you record your message, make sure you are doing it in a quiet place. A very professional voicemail message can be ruined by hearing a lot of people talking in the background, or a baby suddenly screaming (yes ... I have heard this). I have even heard a voicemail message where the person was shouting over background noise. Just the fact that you are thinking about how to make a good message tells me you are probably already doing it better than those who don't think about these things at all.
I have to say it took me longer to get back to this than I anticipated but whoohooo :D I finally did! Professional voicemail script recorded: CHECK. :D
