Hi Belinda - I am actually approved in New York to provide CE, but was told after getting approved that I would be unable to do any demonstrations because I am not licensed in NY. We do provide CE credits through DVD training. I wish there was a way I could come and teach at Mildred Elley College! Sorry.
I am interested in knowing more about what you get to come to your location for classes. It seems like it is so hard to actually find classes. Then they always seem to be on Saturdays, and that never works for me because my Saturdays are booked up for months to come. So happy to hear that Albany will be offering continuing education!!
Get your NYS license…Where are you from?

Hi Dawn-
in NYS, you can do the lecture part as long as a NYS licensed massage therapist does the body work part! I just took a CEU class in NY where that is the case. Here is the exact wording from NYS
Presenters of didactic instruction may be provided by persons who are not licensed by the State of New York as massage therapists. The practical application of such modalities and techniques must be done by massage therapists licensed in New York, or those otherwise authorized to provide such services in New York, when the continuing education occurs in the State of New York.
What this means is that our speakers are allowed to lecture, but they are not allowed to do any touching/hands-on with their assistants or the attendees. They will show their lab assistants what needs to be done, and the assistant will then perform all of the demos that involve any kind of touching.
Hope this helps!
Hi Ashley
We are trying Saturdays as well, but i am also looking into Mondays with my instructor who does chair massage and tool time (using massage tools) so that might be coming for people who are in your situation. Check out out website to see what i have up and coming and in the future
