massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

The University of Arizona has started a new research study called CAM Reach, sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. The study will partner with complementary and alternative medicine [CAM] practitioners from chiropractic, acupuncture and massage therapy to evaluate how an on-line continuing education training can teach practitioners how to help their patients/clients to quit smoking or chewing tobacco in a way that is supportive and not confrontational or nagging. Compensation is provided to participants.

Massage therapists interested in participating can learn more at https://camreach.fcm.arizona.edu/invitation

If you are knowledgeable about this topic, I'd love to hear more elaboration on how MT's LMT's can influence smoking/no smoking. In other words, what is our role / what can we do when it comes to this matter?

Hey Neal! I'm not knowledgeable on this topic, I was just helping them spread the word about the study. :-) You could try contacting the study organizers at the bottom of this page, though: https://camreach.fcm.arizona.edu/invitation
