If you are talking about the woman who got busted for prostitution then I have nothing nice to say about that. She is wrong on so many levels.
I am not saying she did not do lot of things wrong. I am not defending her. I just don't see how Prostitution will hold up in court. I don't even think therapists should advertise on Craig's List. But many do and that in itself does not make them a prostitute.

What do you mean we should not advertise on Craig's list!? It is one of the most popular free sites around. It boils down to the intent hidden in the verbiage. Common...if I wrote that I am well endowed with hands strong enough to crush wall nuts how are you going to take it? Why would she make a point to list her bra size if she was not going to let you enjoy them to some degree. But hey benefit of the doubt here.... at the very least it is bait and switch!

Should you be put in jail if you do put that in there?. But even describing yourself in a suggetive way does not constitute prostitution. You must do the act.

Mikey Mikey Mikey...I love ya man but solicitation is solicitation. Have you never seen the T.V. show Cops? Johns are always getting busted once money is exchanged. So it goes both ways. It seems like your trying to make this into a slippery slope and it's not. An unlicensed body rub, out of the home, against city ordinance, in exchange for money, is prostitution!

The majority of therapists that I know won't advertise on Craig's list, and I know many. I know it's free, but IMO it just isn't policed enough and even though they have made a better effort since that woman was murdered in the hotel earlier this year, there is still a lot of problem with the legitimate therapists being lumped in with the sex providers.
It took a long time and an arduous battle to get licensure into our state (NC). Most of the effort came from AMTA and a few dedicated school owners. I hope Kansas will get another shot at it.
Re the woman in the story, she might not have performed the actual act, but by advertising herself in that manner, she was definitely sending out that message. As for competing with "20-year old models", may I say that I'm a middle-aged overweight fuddy-duddy and I still own the busiest place in town. The therapists in my clinic come in all ages, shapes, and sizes, and none of them are depending on their looks or their bra size to bring in clients. It's all about professionalism, skill, and customer satisfaction based on positive results.
Good points. But she isn't professional. She was trying to make a living and when she looked at Craig's list she saw all these great looking girls and stupidly put in her desciption. She's had no classes in ethics. Is it prostitution?

My take on it: There's the cop's side, there's her side, and then there's the truth:)
