MassageNet To Keep MTBOK "Alive!" (A Living Document)
MTBOK - As of Monday night, I think they had less than 30 people make comments. I hope there is many more.
One thing interesting, I did find out about is the $30,000 grant from the Massage Therapy Foundation for the Feasibility Study of a Massage Therapy Research Network (MassageNet), Jerrilyn Cambron, LMT, DC, PhD, National University of Health Sciences, Lombard, Il.
The purpose of this project is to initiate an innovative multisite, multistate practice-based Massage Therapy Research Network (MassageNet) that will ultimately expand the body of knowledge in the massage profession and establish mechanisms to ensure that the new knowledge is integrated into massage practice.
The first phase of the project will include development of the infrastructure of the MassageNet.
The second phase will include:
(1) a therapist survey assessing personal demographics, massage education, technology utilization and attitudes, and research interests;
(2) a client survey assessing personal demographics, reason for receiving massage care, previous experience with massage care, effects of care, and satisfaction with treatment. The MassageNet Infrastructure will lead to numerous practice-based projects as well as enhanced communication between massage therapists and researchers.

ideas to get comments back on the MTBOK:
- Anyone that owns a school, send an email blast to your past students and bring it up in your CE classes at the school and bring it up at staff meetings to ensure all teachers know about it
- Anyone holding CE classes in the next month - bring up the MTBOK and stress how important it is to give feedback
- Anyone that has email lists of MTs for ANY reason for promotions of other products etc - send an email blast and stress it's importance.
- MTs with MT friends, let your friends know and spread the word.
- I think everyone can play a part in getting the word out about it
As for RESEARCH. I'll be adding a bit more on my wee site later this month : www.mt-researchonline.com on how to find research and YES, it will include a little video intro with an IRISH ACCENT!!!! Oh My goodnesss! You won't be able to understand a dang thing!!!!!

At least ONE of us will understand it, go raibh maith agat! LOL Although I will say the more North I go, the harder it gets to understand. Sounds like a great initiative.
