Do you have for your employees / does your employer have for you, performance standards? Examples- number of sessions, percent rebooked or repeat clients, customer satisfaction scores etc. Do you have a performance based pay system or bonuses for achieving goals? How do you implement them?
Can to Can't
7-8 clients per day
don't need a boss - my clients are the boss
expectations - give them all I've got and they will keep coming back; this is also my business model for the last 25 years.
Clients pay me well above average plus tips for my efforts.
Yes. #1 performance standard in our spas is Product Sales / Service goals.
Cilents who buy 2 or more products are 7x more likely to return for services and other products within 90 days. No point in measuring repeat rates when we know the #1 driver of repeats!
Massage Therapists need to be a 30% Sales:Service, Estheticians at 100%
not only is the goal directly tied to sales commission (10% on all products), but also on the hours you work and your hourly pay (we pay hourly + Fee per treatment).
If you are at less than 50% of your goal, your hourly rate is reduced to Min. Wage for Tipped Employees and you are likely to lose a shift from your sked.
50 - 90% of Goal, hourly rate is Minimum Wage and you keep your hours.
At or above Goal, $10/hour plus you can pick up shifts if you are not already at 40/wk.
Having the whole spa at 50% sales to service is the financial equivalent of doing 50% more services, but you still have your treatment rooms available for more services and more sales!
