Anyone have any suggestions for a new face cradle made of memory foam? Are they really effective for sinus pressure issues?

Do they leave facial impressions?

Are they long lasting?

Any complaints or other issues you've noticed? Are they any better than other face cradles?

Maybe you've got another face cradle you feel is very comfortable that's not memory foam; please share.

Thanks for your input.

Thank you Marilyn, I'm going to start with this gel pack and go from there.

Well it took longer than I thought, but here it is:

There is also a "gel pak package" that comes with special flannel covers that have a pocket for the gelpak, but I make my own and affix the gelpak to my cushion with rubber bands. My covers are flannel with a two-ply top surface; the gelpak tends to leave a mark on some people (like a seam would) so the second layer is nice. Note: By trial & error I found that the cooling properties of the gelpak cannot be felt if a polar fleece cover is used insead of flannel.

Like I said, my clients love the way this feels on the face so much that they request it, and it does give some relief to those who tend to get snuffy.
I think I have a Kur also. It was $25. I have had it for a year. I think it is easier on the sinuses however I find that most cradle covers don't want to fit right and I was dissappointed that the velcro is already almost completely torn away from the thing. Not sure how to fix that. :(
Hi Andrea,

Oooo, not good; several mixed reports on the Kur so far. $25 is pretty inexpensive; I wonder if the others were different models and cost more. Terry?

Be sure and check out Oakworks Boiance Face Cradle Pillow.

Mine came in the mail this week and my clients are raving about it.

It's layers of foam and water.

It feels amazing. No compression marks either.

Made by Oakworks, ya know it's gonna last.
Is this the one Susan?

Does it velcro onto the platform?

Hi Robin - I've had my Kur for 2+ years and paid double what they charge now. Maybe the company has changed something in the manufacturing of them. I was surprised to see they are $26 now. I recently bought a new Stronglite table and like the face rest that came with it - but I am thinking of buying one of the inserts discussed here - they sound like a nice addition.

That's it!

Yes on the velcro.

Here's another link (and a little better price).

I'm pretty sure that Oakworks offers a $ back guarantee.

Let me know what you think about it.

Thanks Susan, did you go with the Terra Touch or the Ultra? I'm not sure if it's a matter of color or texture?

Terra touch is the type of vinyl. It's very soft. UL is a little softer, but not worth the upcharge.

Samantha,

No, I have not personally ordered from them but the school I went to did. I would like to have a second gelpak on hand, but it isn't really necessary at this time...it has been awhile since I've had one of those eight-client-in-a row days (thank heaven!)
