Pioneers To Be Honored!

Once again at this years Massage Therapy Hall of Fame Ceremony, we will acknowledge the "Pioneers of Massage". I believe all with 20 years as a massage therapist should be recognized. We hope if you have 20 years, you will join us at Berea College, Berea, KY on June 19, 2010.

The passing of an icon and real pioneer of massage: Auntie Margaret Machado

I just got word of the passing of Auntie Margaret Machado. My prayers and thoughts are with her family. I will be writing up my reflections of Auntie soon. I feel blessed having experienced her hands and her magic as well as having the best compliment regarding my work come from her. Bobbyboy, as I was known to her, will always have a piece of her in my heart.

We are planning a tribute to her at this year's Festival, Rev! I am glad to know she touched your life also. She helped thousands and I know they feel fortuanate for the experience. Thanks for sharing Rev. If you have any pictures or stories you would like to share for the tribute, please let me know.

I will find some for you... I have a couple of beauties of her circa 1993 and have one of her standing with mi' lady, in 1996. I will be posting an interview I did with her in 1996. for the 1st anniversary of The Rub. It was funny because she went into her house to get a copy of the 1st anniversary issue of Massage Magazine with an interview done by Robert Calvert. I still have that copy.
